Which is to say: perfectly well. The rules of logic are no impediment to an omnipotent creator - they're simply another expression of his will, no?
So you think the success in creating a square circle or a married bachelor is simply a question of degree of potency?
Or, if not, how can such an entity be considered the omnipotent creator of the universe?
Logic works by a different manner than resource management.
Where are these external laws of logic that he is bound by imposed from?
The category of an object necessarily excluding another category with contradictory qualities.
IOW a circle has properties that prohibit from being a square. If it loses those qualities in order to become a square, it is no longer a circle.
The same with a bachelor and a married person.
And the same with free will and being created in a such a manner as to prohibit misuse of it
Is this god simply some very powerful space alien, or the actual creator of nature and its laws in the first place?
If you are talking about laws that govern energy and manifestation, you should realize that its not a question of energy that makes it possible to manifest a square circle.
It implies the foreseen, expected consequence of avoidable suffering.
avoidable?
How can one have free will and be divorced from the possibility of making mistakes (since its not coupled with omniscience and omnipotency)?
If you want to argue that the problem could be solved by decking us out with these other "omni's", you are headed down the same alley as square circles (unless you want to argue that the issue of individuality - or a distinction between god's individuality and our individuality - is an illusion ..... but then if you argue that- which, as it happens is a position that lands one in even hotter water ...)
Humans are not benevolent (hence, the forseen suffering), and so if that is god's image then it follows immediately that god is not benevolent.
Humans are fallible - the reason being because they are not decked out with the omni's (IOW there is an argument for malice as a consequence of ignorance). To suggest that that being made in his image would entail being decked out with the same quantities of power (ie the full omni package) is just as absurd as suggesting that the problems of not being decked out with the full omni package (ie malice etc) must be necessarily brought to bear on god (who does, as it happens, have the full omni package).
IOW the whole thing about being made in his image is one of quality (god is an individual and so are you) not quantity (ie the omni package)
