The Picture Thread Mark V

Yeah...I gotta agree with the ladies....that second pic..like..worries me. Like, your about to unleash a virus or something. :)

Although that first pic says: "I'll kill somebody for you....for the right price. :)

Hmmm....

Strange seeing forum member in their natural setting. We have a face now, but no story to them.

Has a 'myspace' thing ever been done around here?

i had a myspace for a couple of months, and xev and some other guys where there among my "friends"

`
An 'orrid monstrosity which tried to ambush me this morning while I was readying the old veggie garden for another go this year by lurking behind a brick which I'd used as part of the border for the "cultivated" area.

awww it's a wolf spiderzinha, she doesn't want to ambush you, she wants to run away

Hogna aspersa

Not overly fond of this next type - another denizen of my backyard last Summer - but I like the "ground pounders" for some reason.
The specimin below looks like something that might infest the depths of Hell.
Neat markings on its back, tho'.

Ah come on, how can you think that of such an adorable little creature?
I wish we had them here
They're called Araneus diadematus because of the cross pattern on their back

Varda,
Have you ever seen those itty bitty red short legged spider things that I see in my garden? I'll try and find a pic, but I was hoping the description would ring a bell.

it can be so many things... i;d have to look at the shape, and position of the legs, and the eyes etcetc

found this a week ago, it's a flower spide omg so cute

It's a Misumena of some kind. I thought it was a Misumena vatia, but I think we don't get them in south america

Didn't seem to eager to run away, as I had to give 'er little "spanky" with me ruler to get her out of that spot so she didn't get pick-axed.
Cute, tho'... like a wee fuzzy doggie.
heh.

Visually striking - the markings remind me of a spinal column.
That body type just don't do it for me, tho'...
:D

Remember who you are talking to, dear ;)
I meant that maybe what Orleander saw in the garden, ticks.. not spiders.
Those little red things are spider mites.

nothing so flash I'm afraid - I was in the process of counting dinoflagellates with a haemocytometer - unleashing viruses is only for special occasions

Although that first pic says: "I'll kill somebody for you....for the right price. :)

You know what? I think that is possibly one of the most complimentarythings anyone has ever said about me :D

The top one looks like George Michael.

sometimes here in the garden they act like that too, like they're too lazy to move or they just fond a really nice spot
they are not very threatening spiders :)

I think they're gorgeous
I'm not much into the body type of those flat crab spiders, except for the flower ones, I think they look disgusting
