I recently returned from a trip to Alaska. During that trip, I fished on the Kenai River with my dad and the rest of the family there. Here are a couple pictures of me and my birthday fish, alongside my dad:
I believe it was a king salmon. And it was a she.
The water of the Kenai River, as well as of most Alaska rivers, is uniquely beautiful:
That's not murky water — it's glacier water. The rivers are fed by glaciers, which pick up silt while flowing through the mountains. When the glacier melts, the silt flows along with it into the streams and rivers. Glacier water isn't crystal clear, but it's noteably blue in color. The rivers were one of my favorite things about Alaska while I was there.
Pictures of downtown Anchorage and of a moose are coming, eventually.
