The Picture Thread Mark III

if you like the eyes i think that this one is nicer... i can zoom in a little more, but it will become pixelated

Yeah, I like that second spider a little more. Where do you find these spiders? Assuming you are taking these pictures yourself, of course.

In Baltic tradition spider is said to be a blessing of the house. To kill a spider means to bring bad luck to your dwelling.
Good that we don't have any poisonous around, eh?

Yeah, quite good. I've always liked spiders. Fascinating to me. I just got through with a sci-fi book where humans got stranded on a planet that had many varieties of giant insects, including many spiders. That would be scary.

yes i took those :)
spiders and all sorts of aracnides and insects inside my house are a very common event. that is a small tarantula, i think... it was about 8cm.
i also love spiders. i have lots of pictures and videos of spiders eating stuff. i never kill them, i put them in the glass and release them in the garden

we are dooooooomed i say, doooooooooomed

Varda, thats some nice pictures you been showing us, i dont know if this been asked but what type/model camara are you using?

Lovely longhorn beetle. I've always been partial to coleoptera.

Could you put a hand or a coin in the pictures to give us an idea of size? Or maybe a tiny toy car, and we could be like HOLY SHIT THAT CAR IS FUCKED.

Oooooo, how about one of them plastic toy soldiers. You could make your own B-movie...or B-comic!

It's a Sony W5. I wanted to get a Cannon but the sony had a better cost/benefit. Electronics are very expensive in this country.
This camera doesn't have many manual controls, it lets you play with it a little which is good, but it's meant for people who just photograph for fun. You can just press one button and it makes great pictures.

haha sure, i should use something for reference...usually they are running away from me, that makes it a bit difficult to put anything near them, but i'll try in the future.
these are not very big, although that's relative... i guess they're big for europeans standards... we're still talking about insects, right :p... these are all smaller than 10cm

coleptera are awesome. this one makes a cute sound.

by north european standards anything larger then 3-4 cm is gigantic, i cannot recall see a 4 cm bettle thou, maybe a grasshopper
