I've been swooning over the new My Morning Jacket album (Evil Urges) ever since it leaked. Evil Urges is uber-falsetto bong-rock honey sweetened up with one of the slickest rock n' roll breakdowns of recent memory (there is a reason the band refers to it as the "Braveheart" section), I'm Amazed is classic southern rock, Two Halves channels the ghosts of Roy Orbison, and Smokin From Shootin is an alt. country Stairway to Heaven. I can't see this being knocked off as the biggest, ballsiest, and best album of 08.

I'm currently listening to a play-list featuring Fantomas, Tool, and The Deftones. The specific song that is on is "Passenger" by The Deftones and MJK.

 

[Fathoms]

"Passanger" is a classic collaberation. When the Deftones and APC were on the Summersault tour in 2000 Maynard frequently came out and sang it with them. Unfortunately APC cancelled their Vancouver date on account of Maynards dad passing away, so you can imagine the crowds shock when he still managed to come out and perform this song with them.

Really cool hearing two of the more melodic, brooding rock vocalists singing on the same track.
