The stupidity of that statement is astounding, secularist don't commit suicide bombings, they don't have a belief system to give them the necessary courage to do such a selfless act, wrong as it may be, it takes faith to commit a act of suicide for your fellow man, secularist don't have that faith, and from all of the recording of these suicide bombers why are they all screaming Allah Aqbar!!! at the top of their lungs, and why do they in their video last will and testament praise Allah and talk of Paradise?

Some where there is a recording of a suicide bomber, or pilot, screaming these calls to Allah as they crash or blow them selves up, in the name of God.

You'll have to take up with the originators of this method in modern times, who are also training the al-Qaeda, namely the nonreligious LTTE, with more than 200 suicide bombings since 1970 and a full cadre of 400 plus suicide bombers ready for action at any time. They are, not surprisingly, also fighting for statehood.

Are they operating in Iran?

Anyway, I thought al Qaeda didn't use suicide attacks.

With all due respect, read the study first and you will discover (and eventually, hopefully remember) that the first suicide bombers in the Middle East were in Iran, during the Iran-Iraq war; notice there aren't all that many there today.

Why send your own when you can send others?

And it wasn't devloped by the Irainians during the Iran-Iraq war, It was perfected by factions of the Lebanese Civil War.

Although use of suicide attacks has occurred throughout history — with Samson's suicidal destruction of a Philistine temple (as recounted in the Book of Judges), the legendary Swiss hero Arnold von Winkelried, and the Japanese kamikaze pilots of World War II — its main notoriety as a specific kind of attack has been in recent years following the success of a 1983 truck bombing of two barracks buildings in Beirut that killed 300 and helped drive American and French Multinational Force troops from Lebanon.

The first modern suicide bombing — involving explosives deliberately carried to the target either on the person or in a civilian vehicle and delivered by surprise—was in 1981. It was perfected by factions of the Lebanese Civil War; spread to insurgents groups like the Tamil Tigers of Sri Lanka, Palestinian groups, Al-Qaeda, and by 2005 to dozens of countries where a weaker power is fighting a stronger one. Particularly hard-hit have been military and civilian targets in Sri Lanka during Sri Lankan Civil War, Israeli targets in Israel since 1994, and Iraqis since the US-led invasion of that country in 2003. From 1980 to 2003, suicide attacks amounted to only 3% of all terrorist attacks but accounted for 48% of total deaths due to terrorism - this excluding 9/11 attacks. [1]

perceived religious rewards in the hereafter are instrumental in encouraging some, especially Muslims, to commit suicide attacks

I recommend to you Robert Baer's excellent documentary on this subject:
Baer maintains that suicide bombing was marketed by the Iranians to the Lebanese in the 1980s. Despite the tendency to explain this tactic as a function of Shi’ite fanaticism, Baer makes clear that it was used across the board by the Lebanese resistance, including the secular Syrian National Socialist Party. When Baer asks its leader if his members expected to gain entry into Paradise after blowing themselves up, he shrugs his shoulders and says that their Paradise would be on Earth, a liberated Lebanon.

I also suggest you look up Hossein Fahmideh who is arguably the first suicide activist, a 13 year old boy who threw himself in front of an Iraqi tank and spawned similar reactions all over Iran.

Act of war, if that is the case the Japanese have your Iranians beat by 61 years.

The youngest kamikaze pilot to die in a suicide attack was 16 years of age. ...Yukio Araki.

I recommend to you Robert Baer's excellent documentary on this subject:

One mans opinion, there are many others who disagree with his assessment of the reasoning of the suicide bomber.

Let us hear the reasoning behind those who disagree and their evidence to support the same.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammed_Hossein_Fahmideh

Hossein Fahmideh, was a 13 year old boy who fought in the Iran-Iraq War and became what many believe as the first Islamic suicide bomber. During the war, he made his decision to leave his home and go to the south of Iran to stop the invasion of the Iraqi army. He fought side by side with the older Iranian soldiers and held the Iraqi troops back despite his young age. Iraqi troops however at one stage pushed the Iranian troops back and at this stage they were going through a very narrow canal. At that point many Iranian troops nearby had been injured/killed by the heavy Iraqi attacks. Hossein knew that his time would be up sooner or later; therefore he grabbed a hand grenade off one of the nearby bodies and pulled the pin out as he ran and jumped underneath an enemy tank, killing himself and disabling the tank. This stopped the Iraqi tank division's advance.

It is still quite unknown how this boy could have got into the army as being at least 16 years old was a prerequisite for becoming an Iranian soldier during the war. Some say that this was because of the fact that he looked much older than his age and some say that at that particular stage the Iranian army was taking whatever it could to defeat the Iraqis who were supported by and had weapons supplied from more than 10 western countries including USA, France, Germany, Holland, UK, Russia, Brazil etc., and enjoyed the support of the entire Arab World, with the exception of Syria and Libya.

I would be particularly interested to hear their reasoning of the suicide bombers who were Marxists, in Lebanon and Palestine.

Like these:

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) (Arabic: الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين, al-Jabhah al-Sha`biyyah li-Tahrīr Filastīn) is a Marxist-Leninist, secular, nationalist Palestinian political and military organization , founded in 1967. It has consistently been the second-largest of the groups forming the Palestine Liberation Organization (the largest being Fatah). It has generally taken a hard line on Palestinian national aspirations, opposing the more moderate stance of Fatah. It opposed the Oslo Accords and was for a long time opposed to the idea of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but in 1999 came to an agreement with the PLO leadership regarding negotiations with Israel. It has been designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union[1], Canada [2], and Israel. The military wing of the PFLP is called the Abu Ali Mustafa Battalions.

Aug. 13, 2007 issue - In the video that serves as his last will and testament, the youthful, well-dressed Saudi, known only as "Fatima's Fiancé," is laughing and joking with the cameraman who will record his death a few minutes later. "Pray for Allah to make my mission easy," he says, and waves as he climbs into a maroon sedan, grinning broadly. "May Allah make it easy for you," the cameraman says obligingly, and laughs. The scene cuts away to an earlier interview, where the Saudi announces that when he gets to heaven he plans to marry a woman named Fatima, who was allegedly abused in Abu Ghraib Prison. Then the scene shifts to a highway in Iraq, with a line of 18-wheelers roaring along and a red circle superimposed over the bomber's approaching car. As the music swells and the screen fills with an orange-and-black fireball, the cameraman cries, "Thanks to Allah!"

And? They say: Allah is great, when they are having a fight, even with friends and even while playing video games, Thanks be to God when they burp and Yallah, when they call someone. However, none of these activities are religious. It is the language usage of the place, also used by Christians and Jews who speak Arabic and refer to God as Allah.

Its like saying Jesus H Christ! Only for some reason, Christians only use Jesus as a way to express their base feelings, while Muslims (and other Arabs) incorporate it in all parts of speech. Does that mean Christians swear for Jesus?

Don't sound very secular to me? If you wish I can post more, there are 174,000 stories like this available, and the reasons all seem to revolve around going to Paradise, Paradise is running out of Virgins.

Excerpts from the videos include the statements:

We are a nation that drinks blood, and we know that there is no blood better than the blood of Jews.
My dear mother ... wipe your tears. ... Don't let me see you sad on my wedding day with the maidens of paradise.

Escort our souls to heaven after we fulfill this duty of crushing the descendents of monkeys and pigs.

I hoped that the shredded limbs of my body would be shrapnel, tearing the Zionists to pieces, knocking on heaven's door with the skulls of Zionists. ... My blood shall be my path to march to heaven.

The farewell video of Adham Ahmad Hujyla Abu Jandal was published on a Hamas website last month.

He even states that he will get to paradise for his act, not very secular, he is dieng this to get to paradise, and marry some would be virgin?

I will bow to your superior knowledge of the Arab culture and mind.

Having spent only 5 years with them and met only Christians, Jews and Muslims who speak in the same way, I have no further opinion.

Its like a soldier dying for his medal. Nothing to do with the war or the country.

And if a Christian made the same type of statement, just before he went off and blew himself up along with a bunch of Moslems, just what do you think you would be saying? that he was only a secularist?

The reason that your suicide bombers do these actions, is the same reason that the Japanese Kamakazi did their actions, for their Gods, and God Emperor, and the guarented entry to Nirvana, If the Moslen suicide bomber didn't have the promise of automatic entry to paridise why would he commit suicide? isn't suicide a mortal sin in Islam, and you go to hell for commiting suicide.

Is suicide condoned in the Quran?

The confusion on what is suicide and who may be targeted in war

A small minority of Muslims (who are not in the category of those who have nullified their Islam*) misunderstand the word shaheed (martyr) when it comes to war and the act of suicide.

Muslims may engage in defensive wars and if they happen to die in this way, doing it for the sake of Allah, insha'Allah they die shaheed, and as we know, a shaheed may attain paradise.

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 1:35, Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet said, "The person who participates in (Holy battles) in Allah's cause and nothing compels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostles, will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to Paradise (if he is killed in the battle as a martyr). Had I not found it difficult for my followers, then I would not remain behind any sariya going for Jihad and I would have loved to be martyred in Allah's cause and then made alive, and then martyred and then made alive, and then again martyred in His cause."

Some Muslims incorrectly think that suicidal bombings during war is not suicide but an act of defensive war. They see it the same as fighting with guns or swords in a war. However, shooting in a war, one goes in with the intention NOT to die. Using oneself as a walking or flying bomb, one goes in with the intention of killing oneself (and the perceived enemy).

Sometimes a Muslim may have enough knowledge to quote the hadith in which it was said that the companions of Prophet Muhammad (saaws) would throw their bodies on top of the Prophet and were willing to take a hit for him. However, this does not mean they were intending to kill themselves! This means they were willing to perhaps take an attack to an arm or leg to prevent death to the Prophet saaws. Or that they would shield him and escort him to safety, and by shielding him, preventing the enemy from striking at that moment since the Prophet couldn't be clearly seen in the crowd. Putting oneself at risk is not the same thing as intending to do an act that would surely kill oneself!

As we know, the religion of Islam is based upon intentions, as we are judged according to our intentions. A good deed is not accepted by Allah if we have intentions other than doing it for the sake of Allah, or if it is not in accordance with Quran and Sunnah.

SUICIDAL BOMBINGS ARE AN ACT OF WAR **AND** SUICIDE and therefore haram (prohibited) since suicide (INTENTIONALLY KILLING ONESELF) is such a terrible sin with terrible consequences.

In addition, such Muslims are completely unaware of the ayat (proof) against killing women and children. Ignorance is so sad. And any haram act by any Muslim anywhere, hurts the Muslim ummah as a whole
