The Muslim Ban Has Begun!

well as history has shown if you don't share resources you end up having them stolen instead...and you may indeed lose everything.

If you close the door to people in genuine need, the door is likely to be struck down by the terrorist you have created.

One of the fundamental flaws in Trumps strategy is that the genuine terrorist will always find a way to strike either by striking outside the USA at USA citizens or by striking in the USA by gaining entry illegally. ( the ban only effects legal migration and refugees. Illegal migration will be hardly effected at all)

On top of which the ban will generate new terrorist activity due to it inherent discrimination further exasperating the situation.

There is though, with out doubt, a huge migration issue that needs to be properly addressed. ( long term)

65million + displaced persons and growing daily is not something to ignore or react badly to.
Drought in Kenya
Famine in Yemen
Drought in South Sudan
Drought in Syria (?)
and so on, leading to mass migration to places that offer something better.

It has very little to do with race or religion .... more to do about human suffering and climate change. IMO

That's easy. But it's not complimentary to self-described "Christians".

Yet apparently too hard for you to just come right out with.

Most people in both Parties still are Christian.

It wasn't a distinction, it was a reminder - you were ascribing racism to Democrats and Christianity to Republicans as if they were separated, and I am reminding you that the worst of the racists and the most fundamentalist of the Christians are all together and mostly Republicans now, steady since 1980.

Bit of a straw man there. Yes, racism definitely was largely the purview of Democrats, and in different ways, it still is. And yes, today more Christians are Republican than Democrat. These are not conflicting facts. Nor do racist Christians today impute to the majority of Christians or Republicans.

The government policies they favor do.

No, the government bureaucracies that implement such policies lack any ability to be discerning, as the Bible commands.

In this case, it often is - the US is and has been recently among the major creators of refugees in this world.

Really? From Syria, the largest current source? How did the US create that? o_O
From Iraq? Republicans were strongly against Obama's actions which allowed that region-destabilizing power vacuum.

That was by making war, which created these refugees.
And not taxing the rich to pay for it.

It was the lack of our military that destabilized the region, not its presence.

God either encourages or demands charity from his followers, depending on which mouth, or which side of that mouth he’s speaking from.

Hebrews 13:16 - Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Deuteronomy 15:7-11 - “If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be. Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say, ‘The seventh year, the year of release is near,’ and your eye look grudgingly on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to the Lord against you, and you be guilty of sin. You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’+

Matthew 5:42 - Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.

Deuteronomy 15:3 - Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release
"Your brothers" do not include foreigners.

Matthew 5:19 - Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
"Least in the kingdom of heaven" is still IN the kingdom of heaven.

So...where is this supposed "demand"? o_O

Giving charity to the disadvantaged and persecuted is enabling vice?

To the drug and alcohol abuser? Certainly.

From Iraq? Republicans were strongly against Obama's actions which allowed that region-destabilizing power vacuum.
Was Obama also operating under UN pressure at the time?

Any ways I am not sure any one was expecting the Iraqi army to drop it's shit and get 5000 soldiers executed and dumped in a ditch by ISIL.

So...where is this supposed "demand"? o_O

Matthew 5.42↗: "Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you."

Matthew 25.34-46↗:

Then the King will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, or thirsty and give thee drink? And when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothe thee? And when did we see thee sick or in prison and visit thee?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.' Then he will say to those at his left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' Then they also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to thee?' Then he will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.' And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Re: Iraqi destabilization. ( because it's Sunday and I got nothing better to do)
It is often cause for fascination how people can so quickly distort the history of past events. At the time, if I recall correctly, close to 5000 USA trained and fully equipped Iraqi Soldiers not only abandoned their weapons and uniforms and surrendered to ISIL en-mass, they also were executed en-mass with out any sign of resistance. Apparently willingly kneeling beside the ditch waiting to have their brains blown out or their throats slit.

I am sure many senior military personnel would love to know how ISIL pulled that one off... as it was truly extraordinary.

ISIL then goes on to repeat similar influence on hostages, prisoner etc and seemingly every one forgets the first 5000 when suggesting that they just fudged their control over people by using false confidence strategies and not looking deeper into the how and wherefores.

ISIL terror has reigned the world especially DJT ever since...

But of course the Republican army will say that Obama was responsible for the desertion, surrender and subsequent massacre of Iraqi Soldiers...and rewrite history to suit their political agenda whilst missing the opportunity to learn from the superior techniques employed by ISIL in the destabilization of the region.

"It wasn't ISIL it was Obama...." I hear them cry....

yeah they just need to put Christ back into Christ-ianity and suddenly old values re-appear that have been forgotten....

btw I am not a Christian but admire most of the values the account of Jesus Christ offered.

Racism has been largely the purview of Republicans since the southern bigot vote switched parties - sometime before 1980, when Reagan took over the Party by gathering the bigot vote to himself.

Currently the large majority of Republican voters are racist Christians - at least 60% and more likely over 80%, if the polls are any good.
No, the government bureaucracies that implement such policies lack any ability to be discerning, as the Bible commands.
The Bible contains no commands relative to governmental bureaucracy, beyond that Christians pay their taxes.

The record of US involvement in Iraq, spilling into Syria, with all the millions of refugees created over the past fifteen years,

- as well as the US involvement in Afghanistan with so many refugees, and various African countries with their millions, and Indonesia, and Mexico, and the southern Americas, and the Caribbean, and so forth,

is clear and primarily Republican Party based in origin and execution. The Iraq War was a Republican Party venture entirely.
It was the lack of our military that destabilized the region, not its presence
The world was not created in six days ending about two years ago. The region was destabilized by the US military in the Iraq War, and our military has been present in the area since WWII.

really? but jesus also stated that he supported the OT laws MAT 5:17-19
a lot of those are racist, sexist and truly horrible
that is why i can't admire the rest of the "values" taught... the circular way it's done is to insure the older "values" are also taught, and justifies hate

i may "agree" with some of the teachings (in the NT by JC) , but i can't say i admire any of the biblical characters -

the bible is simply a book that prejudice people use to justify their own hatred

Matthew 5.42↗: "Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you."

You'll note that Matthew 5 ends with:
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

US mainstream Christianity has never prescribed to literal perfectionism. And those denominations that do, like Catholicism, have quite a few qualifications on "perfection", often downgrading it or reserving it to the afterlife. Most consider it something to strive for, but which salvation does not rely. Hence not a demand, because demands have penalties.

Matthew 25.34-46↗:

Then the King will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' "Brethren" and "these" are reference to followers..or at most countrymen. So not only have you failed to show a demand, you've failed to relate it to accepting refugees.

Obviously, you don't recall correctly. Throwing down weapons and fleeing is not surrendering and awaiting execution without any resistance.

What polls?
Where do you find the Bible condoning forced charity?
No sources cited for your claims that are contrary to the fact that Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, voted for the Iraq war (58% of Democratic senators voted for the resolution).

Obviously, you don't recall correctly. Throwing down weapons and fleeing is not surrendering and awaiting execution without any resistance.
I am quite happy to argue this out fully in another thread if you so choose to participate in one...
The point I was attempting to make was that it was the unexplained surrender of 5000 Iraqi troops ( subsequent mass execution) and the destruction of any Iraqi military integrity that created the instability in Iraq often blamed by politically motivated persons on Obama.

And that this denial of the extraordinary nature of Tikrit Massacre and subsequent events prevents proper understanding of how to mitigate ISIL's subsequent and ongoing reign of terror and their capacity to radicalize young people on a global scale. (lone wolf attacks etc)
