Why would God want to be worshipped? Isn't that a sign of insecurity?

M*W: I've got a problem with this idea, too. It does seem egocentric to create the human race and then expect all of us to worship the creator. I don't think of our creator as needed to be 'worshipped' like an idol, say. I believe the creation of humanity is worship enough for a creator, just like an artist would be proud of his paintings and people admire him for his work, etc.
This business of 'worshipping' God has gotten out of hand. Most religions who believe in a higher power promote the 'worship' of that higher power. I see it another way. Instead of the creation worshipping its creator, I believe the creation should worship itself. After all, the creation is the image of the creator. The artist is not the adored one, the painting is. Therefore, that makes the creation more worthy of worship than the creator. The creator can keep creating until he gets it right. The creation stands alone as the output of thought or dream of the creator. Within itself, it is duly worthy of worship.
As the greatest creation of our higher power, we must worship ourselves and each other. Not only are we the painting, we are also the artist.
God is a proud God and He requires subservience and submission. He created mankind to love Him and worship Him. Simultaneously, we are His slaves as well and must not question His will.
@ M.W.
Your comparison of God to an artist is uneducated, to say the least. Do you consider God to be an artist? Did He tell you that He is an artist or did you arrive at this through your own "intelligence".
I do agree that God is proud of His creation and He REQUIRES full adoration from His creation, NOT FOR His creation.
The reason I scoff at your comparison to an artist is shown when you say "The artist is not the adored one, the painting is. Therefore, that makes the creation more worthy of worship than the creator."
You can NOT possibly make that comparison to Supreme Deity. You may NOTuse finite allusion to show your opinion of God. Unlike an artist, God created once and saw that "it was good." He did not try to improve His perfection after He "surveyed" His work.
I would continue on just why alone your comparison is asinine but I'm in school right now
. Simply acknowledge how conceited and egocentric you are for saying the creation DESERVES worship. After the vile things you (and I) have done in life, none of us deserves to be worshipped.
Basing your thesis on an improper comparison is rather ridiculous, hm?
