If their faith comforts them, it helps.In other words, that hope is based on our own understanding of things as it must be because faith in God is not going to help anyone.

As you go through this COVID19 situation like the rest of the world, where does your hope come from? What are you hoping will happen?
Hope is like faith, I think - we can hope there's a cure for COVID19
To live a life without hope, would be to just exist, imo
To hope doesn’t mean you don’t follow current events and accumulate knowledge. One can hope as he/she gains new knowledge of circumstances. The two are not opposed, really.To live life without hope means you lack the knowledge to understand the situation ie have your eyes shut and not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (normality) is coming back

What I find interesting is when hope is placed on stuff in the world of reality you experience tangible results
Hope Billy does well in his exam
Billy does well ✓ hope true
Billy does not do well X hope not true
If hope is placed on stuff not in reality ANY result becomes true
Hope god helps Billy
Billy does well ✓ gods will, true
Billy does not do well ✓ gods will, true
God =/= religion.
God =/= religion.
Religion - the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.
“Organized religion” is not my thing, I’m referring to. Belief in God doesn’t require a building or pastor/rabbi/etc. Just my thoughts to it.
I do believe in Jesus’ teachings - interesting, Thanks for the info.
