"We will sortie," Shogun then said, "I guess we will have to continue another time, we got a mission,"

"Where's that air support?" "They said it's on it's way." "Everybody stay where you are!"

OOC: I was thinking of an exciting idea, not something major for the plotline but what if in the middle of bombing the enemy artillery you were to get like an emergancy call reporting that an African army (of your choosing) made a bold offenssive (something like the battle of the bulge) and you were told that all air units were to proceed towards it and attempt to delay it until reinforcements on the ground could stop the massive enemy advance.

You dont have to, but I figured you two may find it exciting.

They quickly changed into their flight suits, Yamato and Blitz are sent on the mission. Their fighters are already on the runway waiting for them, the weapons have been already loaded. They climbed into their cockpits and preformed preflight checks. Shogun then gave the salute to go, then the order come from the control tower as well,

"Pilots, you may sortie,"

OOC:

If you guys need some help for squadrons names here are the names the Army gives to various companies in a regiment:

OUT OF GAME: I don't know, I always thought getting your rear-end shelled was enough excitement. :D

Blitz Squadron took off first, then Yamato Squadron took off lead by Shogun and Masaru, Shogun said into the comm,

"Yamato 1 taking off,"

He then lifted off and flew towards the battlefield.

Shogun then turned on the comms,

"Ground Forces, this is Captain Shogun Minamoto, what is the situation?"

The radionman answered: "We're getting pounded to death out here!" Otto took the phone from the radioman "Give me that. Shogun, we have a mess of artillery out here, could you lend some support?"

"Roger, that is what I am here for, do you know the position of the targets?"

"Only the coordinates we sent HQ. Sorry, but you'll have to find the targets within the general area."

"Roger, can you get a team to get a laser on the targets?" Shogun then brought up the map and the coordinates.

I dont know about squadron names....but I know those are for army companies. I could see them being default names, but frequently you get fighter squadrons that change their names to reflect a sort of spirit of comraderie. But those are usually veteran squadrons. One example is the nickname US bomber squadrons gave to the B-52. Buff. "Big Ugly Fat F***er."

"We'll try. Get your lasers on those guns!" The men peeked out from their positions and aimed their lasers at the artillery pieces.

Squadrons have numbers, but they have nicknames that usually reflect their insignia. They don't really use the alphabet.
