shogun, not a military vessel but exploration. Anyways, I've met combat medics, doctors are WAY WAY better for treating wounds.
Namely because a combat medic is trained to deal with only combat wounds, if you've got the runs the best he can do is give you maybe a pill or two (assuming he has them which probably isn't the case) and tell you to drink water. To them, just about anything that isn't a bullet wound or a combat wound he will tell you to drink water and you'll be 'okay'.
