Russian missile failure over Norway

White phosphorous isnt a chemical weapon it is an incendiary weapon.
WP is primarily used as a smoke-producer, rather than an incendiary.
And incidentally, Soviet/ Russian classification puts all incendiary weapons under the heading "Chemical Weapons" since they don't use KE or explosive power to do the damage.

Um, you miss the point.,
The Soviet/ Russian classification of their own incendiary weapons is "chemical", as well as those of other nations.
For the reasons stated: they aren't KE and they aren't explosive.

I'm wondering the same thing.

Hey, Mac, I'm not too surprised that others haven't understood it but I figured you would have. The missile stage, in this case it was the 3rd one, became detached early (actually, it broke away from the main body frame) and still contained a lot of fuel which began spraying out. It already had considerable forward motion (inertia) and the fuel jetting out the side caused it to spin like a pinwheel. There's really nothing more to it than that.
