It seems you are displaying your inheritance from A+E.

Your defence could be that “sin” doesn’t exist.
A+E didn’t exist.
And there is no evidence to show that God exists .
I’m not suggesting this is what you think, but if you did, could you see how that could be a product of your inheritance?

I see “sin” as a transgression, which can be deliberate, accidental, or coincidental.
For example if it is a law that one should not kill, we cannot help but kill. We walk to the shops, and probably kill ants. We have transgressed the law. And we are bound to pay for that. We call it karma.

A “ sin” isn’t a mistake. It is an action. It is not so much about right, or wrong, but what we do at each moment.
When we intentionally committ transgressions like rape, murder, etc, then we venture into wrongness, badness, evil etc.

I agree that humans start out as innocent, and blameless. But as spirit souls, they aren’t.

If you accept karma, or even just look at it objectively, it begs the question of why are they here at all.
If you think karma is a load of tosh, then it doesn’t matter.
It’s a delicate subject.

I remember an England football manager was publicly stating that disabled people were disabled in this life because of their previous actions.

I’m sure you can imagine the public uproar that ensued. He had no choice but to resign.

Jesus, playing the part of a human, in a moment of human weakness wondered if God had forsaken him, while he was in serious pain, on the cross. At least that’s how it came across to me, reading the gospels.

Mother Teresa also thought God had forsaken her at some point. That’s what humans do.
It’s all very complicated, yet simple.

Is stealing cable really a crime???

That's the million dollar Karma question. Was that a commandment that was lost in the follies of history, and would people have been too ignorant at the time by a commandment: "Free cable is a crime"?

That's just the point. I don't see any reason for acknowledging a God who "does what God likes". If His actions are not predictable, what difference does it make whether I acknowledge Him or not? I might be punished for "something" or rewarded for "something", depending on "what God likes" at any particular moment. I might as well just do what I like.
