At this point, I'm beginning to doubt the pyramid claims. Dr. Schoch's colleague remarked that the inscriptions found in one of the tunnels were most definitely forged for whatever reason.
I think this may be hype (forged inscriptions, etc.) from several interested parties working to keep the pyramid fervor alive, for their own various reasons. I think some of it obviously has to do with a certain amount of national pride, having a pyramid in your backyard.
I won't completely make a judgement until the remaining year's excavations are done, though I'm not really expecting a whole lot.
