Why would you want to marry more than one persn?
Marriage means that your spouse is your soulmate.
It's not possible to have an extra soulmate.
Who in their right mind would want to marry an extra person?

But if people disagree with you, should they legally be able to?
If not, why not.

No one responded to my question:

The honest question I have is "Why not?"
It's not for me, but if someone wants to, what is the problem with it?
Does it place a greater economic strain on society?
Is there any valid, objective, sound reasoning behind disallowing it, or it is simply the puritanical views of moralists that keep it from being legal?

No one answered because no one could come up with a real reason not to have polygamy. Yes, for my personal life it would suck, but if someone else wants to, and none of the parties involved have objections, whos to say no? They aren't affected negatively by it, exept for their "poor children" who become corrupted. but this is the world we live in and everyones got to learn how to deal with it at some point in their lives.
