Safe here in Darwin Australia (ha ha I went through Cyclone Tracey 1974 look it up if you wish)
When I saw this I thought OK it's a cartoon. But on the American TV news they went nuts. Seems like the carton was poking fun at Texas religion
Well I know I saw the text version years ago of
the old lady sitting on the roof of her flooded house
along comes a boat asking her to get in
her reply was The lord will take care of me
Various other rescue teams pass with the same response
The last one being a helicopter as the rising water lapped her ankles
After that the wind blew her off the roof and she drowned
In heaven she asked god Why didn't you take care of me
I sent a boat 5 other rescue teams and a helicopter. What more did you want?
Americans do tend to overthink some things
Yep that's the one. I was about 18 months into my 3 year Registered Nurse training
Most of it. The structures were from the 40's from memory. We did have a reasonably new brick building for administrative staff and a newer multistorey operating / surgical unit. Only one member of our course happen to be out of Darwin at the time and she was only let back because of her status as trainee nurse
