They look like bugs, but are complitely white. Also, they emerge and disappear at will.

You know, I've used this argument against ghosts, ghouls and spectres, ... why don't we see ghost bugs? Some die horribly by swat, spray or sticky paper and must have 'unifinished business' binding their little souls to this realm, but we don't get reports of bug hauntings, unless;

These are the ones that you just can never swat. You swing, but they seem to move through the swat without harm. Maybe they are ghost bugs, ....
