philosophy of 0+0

quote from some asshole

"A perfect vacuum with a gaseous pressure of absolute zero is a philosophical concept that is never observed in practice, not least because quantum theory predicts that no volume of space is perfectly empty in this way. Physicists often use the term "vacuum" slightly differently. They discuss ideal test results that would occur in a perfect vacuum, which they simply call "vacuum" or "free space" in this context, and use the term partial vacuum to refer to the imperfect vacua realized in practice."

peace.

So perhaps nothingness is only a philosophical construct, never existing in reality.

Your analogy of 1+1=2 is wrong in universal constants. Since we know that matter cannot be created or destroyed. 1+0=1 would be more accurate to the universe always existing.

It's true that people want to look for a more reasonable (or mystical) explanation to why or if the universe was created or not.

Although when you sum up all of existence into one equation, you are basically saying EVERYTHING can be summed up through math. Which is just a made up way of dealing with arbitrary quantities. Like we say an apple equals 1, another apple added to that equals 2, which is simple enough when generalizing what an apple is. But trying to equate 1 with the entire universe and everything in it, that's a little too much.

Just wanting to simplify things does not make them simple.

its not cheating, its called using tools and methods to help us understand these things. and I didnt say anything about 1/x as x approaches a million, i said as x approaches infinity.

in other words, 0= 1x10^-∞

that would be 0.00000000000000000000000000(infinite amount of zeros before you reach the one.) that is, for all practical purposes, zero.

because using 0, i cannot apply the methods of calculus and limits..... using a function 1/x i could...

how does it not??

if 1/infinity = 0 and 0 represents non existence, then 1/x represents non existence...

basic syllogism...

While it may have the form of a syllogism, it's incorrect.

You haven't instantiated "x".

0 + 0 = 8

Nothing plus nothing equals infinity.
Something plus something equals finality, finitude.
