Lowell George (RIP) was a songwriting genius. The group of musicians he assembled are all at the top of their class. It is music that one never tires to listen.

As an aside: Frank Zappa never hired Lowell when he auditioned for Frank. He told him to go back to Georgia and start his own band.

Thanks for that Frank, wherever you are.

RT-2

Actually in my CD player at this moment:

• Boiled in Lead (CD-R compilation of BiL's most road-worthy songs)
• Rheostatics Introducing Happiness
• The Seeds Travel With Your Mind

But I have 5+ days of music on my external hard drive, so I spend most of my time listening to iTunes; this afternoon I'm shaking out the cobwebs with a random directory of heavy metal. Helloween right now, specifically We Got the Right, followed up with Alice Cooper (I Love the Dead) and, if I sit here long enough, W.A.S.P. (F--k Like a Beast). Aah, there goes my youth.

"I love the dead before they're cold, their bluing flesh for me to hold. Cadaver eyes upon me see nothing."

See, the thing is that if I had smoked dope in high school, I would have moved past my heavy-metal years. In the meantime, there's still a little thrill from playing F--k Like a Beast so everyone in the neighborhood can hear it. Or at least the weird people next door.

thanx,
Tiassa

  • Then the door was open and the wind appeared
    The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared (saying don't be afraid)
Come on, baby (and she had no fear)
And she ran to him (then they started to fly)
You all are picking some excellent tunes.
Definitely not enough hours in each day.

Peace.

(by the way... love the goo goo dolls, but their remake of this classic tune sucks.)

From Lincoln;

Purple Toupee:

I remembr the year I went to camp,
Heard about some lady named Selma and some blacks,
Somebody put their fingers in the Presidents ears,
Wasn't to much later they came out with Johnson's wax,
I remember the book depository where they crowned the king of Cuba,
Thats all I can think of but I'm sure there's something else,
Way down inside me I can hear it comming back.....
