OJ has just been sentenced to 15 years. The funny thing is, it seems as if the judge was ready to impose a much harsher sentence until OJ made a tearful statement to the court. He made that statement right before the judge read her sentence, and it seemed as if she wasn't using her prepared statement and she ended up giving OJ the same sentence as his "co-conspirator".
LAS VEGAS (AP) - A broken O.J. Simpson has been sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for a Las Vegas hotel armed robbery by a judge who rejected his apology and said, "It was much more than stupidity."

Simpson stood stone-faced Friday when Judge Jackie Glass quickly rattled off his punishment after he pleaded with her that he didn't mean to steal from anybody when he tried to retrieve memorabilia.

He appeared ready to break down in tears as he told that he was "sorry and confused" before going into a rambling and emotional 5-minute declaration.

"I didn't want to steal anything from anyone ... I'm sorry, sorry," he said.

Glass ruled before sentencing that Simpson cannot be freed on bail pending possible appeal. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D94SNE980&show_article=1

Which means he only has to serve 7.5 years because there's a two for one in the prison system. Don't forget he will appeal so he could be out even sooner depending on how fast his appeal gets heard.

Oh come on, the entire trial was a joke. It was hardly armed robbery or kidnapping to begin with.

Agreed. OJ was convicted only because he previously got away with murder. The guy who really got screwed was his co-defendent who was given the same sentence as OJ despite not having gotten away with murder.

He didn't "get away" with murder. Opinions don't count, evidence does.

The evidence was overwhelming. HE KILLED THOSE TWO PEOPLE. He was set free by an act of "jury nullification" by an all black jury. He literally got away with murder.

If the jury finds you innocent you are. After all plenty of innocent black men get sent to jail in the US.

He was trying to get back his memorabilia. Its just a bunch of not so good men behaving like arses with each other. They all knew each other, so its not [IMO] kidnapping or armed robbery. At best, they should have all been fined for wasting everyone's time with BS.

OJ's previous trial had no bearing on this case. It would be illegal to do so on the part of the judge or jury.

yea well, 15 years is not just overly harsh, but rediculous to say the least with no hard evidence but testimonies of crackpots.

I think its highly overdone. He most certainly did not deserve the sentence.

Yeah, right. I doubt he'd even have been charged were it not for his previous crime. Did you know he also got in trouble for stealing direct TV? Who gets in trouble for that? The community knows he's guilty and everyone he comes in contact with watches him like a hawk. So, law or no law, this conviction is a direct result of his previous acquittal.

You obviously have no knowledge of the case. The entire thing, from the planning to the actual crime was either tape recorded or filmed! One of OJ's "rriends" recorded the meeting where they planned everything, and the actual crime took place at a casino where there were cameras everywhere.

well madanthonywayne...you are correct, I have no idea of the case.

lol...

got that evidence? tapes online? for me to look at
