In Latvia you would get a ticket, get your license taken away for at least a year, put under arrest for 18 days and possibly your car would be confiscated and sold by the state.
Same if drunk driving.
For a joint? Sounds like a great place to live. What if you get caught pissing in the bushes? Penial confiscation?
The people I know who smoke pot could pass any field sobriety test at any time. You can't even tell they're on it. It seems much less intoxicating than say booze, for instance.
