Sodom meant burning. It's actually quite amusing that the Bible claims god burnt a city named Sodom that meant burning city, Just another problem with the bible..

That is yet another of the uses. Check a dictionary, you will see the same word having a variety of interpretations. Add a couple of thousand years usage, and perhaps you should be less narrow minded.
