To better understand how the "Keynesian advantage of paper money" has be preverted in last decade into not a source of stability... but into a source of instablity...
I dont know the Keynesian take on it, but I dont believe its correct to say that a fiat system can 'become' corrupt when in fact it was created as a 'form' of corruption.

The only problems it can solve are the ones it created.

I respect economists and those obsessed with the economy. I choose to live in optomism. It has NEVER let me down, NEVER caused me stress, and NEVER cost me a dime. :)

Homeless people are losers who lack a "winning" attitude.

That and bad thoughts, choices, decisions, and actions. I believe in self-responsibility. Most are homeless by choice. They dropped out of society. They chose drugs over work. Laziness over ambition. Alcohol over food. I don't have one ounce of pity for losers. I do feel bad for their children.

If someone squandered every opportunity for an education to end up an unemployable semi-literate loser, that's their problem, not mine.

If someone needs temporary help getting back up, that's fine. Taxpayer money for welfare brood mares should stop. So should all the other entitlements.

"As for "the less fortunate," the use of this phrase implies that those without means are victims of bad luck rather than their own laziness, bad work ethic and a dearth of good decisions. To imply that the poor, poor pitiful poor are where they are simply because they weren't "fortunate" is to suggest that those who find themselves in good financial shape were merely lucky. What a convenient way to denigrate the idea of individual achievement. The left can tell you through this "less fortunate" nonsense that you were merely lucky, and those sad poor people were simply unlucky. The left is only evening the odds when they take your stuff and give it to them."

What a shining example of Christian ( the only kind of ) charity you are. If only those idle. feckless. useless. parasitical. workshy people could receive Jesus, how different things might be. Job opportunities.

There's big money in preaching what you don'tpractice

Gold just hit 859! :yay:

This is going to be a freakin awesome year!!

Yes, my Krugerrand collection just feels happier. And I did horde some foreign currencies...that will help too. Only thing I am worried about is those gun toteing losers...chances of getting mugged just went up....

You don't get it. You never will.

I am one of those who "don't get it" either. Could you please be so kind as to explain it to us heathens for I feel my soul is at a loss?

I mean, I gave a homeless guy $20 the other day. Please help me correct my thinking so I might be able to just walk past them and say, "Get a job loser!" Maybe I have to remember how Jesus in the New New Testament just told the poor and destitute to "piss off loser; I'm only here to save the rich people - as long as they have stock options."

And my dumb ass all this time thinking that Jesus wanted us to help the poor and fed the hungry. Boy was I wrong. All this time I could have kept my money just for me. Dang, being a Christian has taken on a new meaning in these Bush years. Black is white. Up is down. In is out. Christian is devil worshipper.

Commodities Surge, Led by Oil at $100, Record Gold (Update5)

By Pham-Duy Nguyen

Jan. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Crude oil reached a record $100 a barrel and gold soared to the highest ever, leading a commodity surge as the dollar's slump against major currencies enhanced the appeal of raw materials as hedges against inflation.

Spot gold climbed to $860.10 an ounce, and wheat and soybeans jumped more than 3 percent. The UBS Bloomberg Constant Maturity Commodity Index gained as much as 2.2 percent today after climbing 22 percent in 2007. The dollar fell on speculation the Federal Reserve will cut borrowing costs in an attempt to bolster the U.S. economy.

``The most salient buzzword in 2008 is going to be inflation,'' said Michael Pento, senior market strategist for Delta Global Advisors Inc. in Huntington Beach, California, which manages about $1.4 billion. ``The Fed is lowering interest rates and vastly increasing the money supply. They're further fueling inflationary expectations
.''

You see this as a good thing?

I believe Bernanke has truly lost his mind....

He should be raising rates, but he's too chickenshit to do it...

WHAT?!! Because of drugs?!! That is not as common as you may think it is, most people who are homeless, believe it or not, are untreated schizoids, have mental disabilities, or have mental illnesses. The reason I advocate homeless people is that many of them need treatment in order to live normally in mainstream society.

Most poor people are not losers. It was something they were born into, and they simply cannot get out, even with ambition.
