With all due respect, you have no clue what you're talking about. "Baptist" is a catch name for any number of independent churches, many with VERY diverging interpretations and beliefs, except in one are: baptism in the name of Christ is the only way to get to heaven; belief in the trinity, Satan and the return of Christ in the end times. Everything else is optional.
A better focus says Baptism has nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity - it is a ritual from the Hebrew bible given 2000 years previously.
A focus on the Torah was paramount in their teaching. Memorization and understanding of entire tracts of versus was demanded.
A better focus says Europe was only interested in whatever it could align with the Gospels - and anything else was totally disregarded or fullfilled away. Most Christian scholars have now admitted the corruption of the Isaiah texts was a big time error - yet this folly is still clung to by millions of Christians. There has never been anything in the Hebrew bible which was or is fullfilled [not active anymore], everything being active today, and there has never been any fullfilment seen in the Gospels - only the prophesies listed in the Hebrew bible can be scientifically and historically agreed as fullfilment, and in open manifest mode.
The core reason behind the alleged "wandering" is much debated, but the prime reason--even amongst Jews--is to get the Egypt out of the Hebrews even after the Hebrews had already fled Egypt. Two generations left almost no one alive from the original slavery and enough time to drive the lessons home.
This is better the activation of the prophesy given to Abraham: bondage subsequent to Monotheist truth - and return to a land designated. This is also proof there can be no fullfilment as per the contradicting Helenist message from Saul of Tarsus - if there is no absolute reliance of God's word - there is no belief in God. God does not change his mind - better, God cannot change his mind - because God is truth ['I wake early in the morn to keep my promises'].
It was "forgotten" many times even after the arrival in Canaan. And the "FX miracles" are, again, hyperbole and the figment of many a man's imagination.
The greatest miracles are not FX miracles but everyday occurences, which must go through the laws we call as 'nature' - here, millions/billions of unseen factors have to align. The return from bondage is a miracle by virtue of the Israelites being the only nation which escaped, returned and survived to their own land - which was held till 70 CE - as is seen in the return of Israel when this was least possible ['We will never support the return of the Jews to their homeland because they rejected Jesus' - Pope Pius]. One must not exclude the failed and bad agendas here - these are more telling.
Science has already demonstrated that most of the nonsense in the bible is the meanderings of many layers of human imagination.
Is the universe not finite [V1]? Can there be any science but for V2 occuring first - the formless must turn to form? Science comes from Genesis.
Except the part about the earth being a few thousand years old. Creation, in general.
This is Christianity - always in error of the Hebrew bible. If this brings an anxst - direct it where it belongs.
Name a single lofty claim in the bible that's been proven? See, the bible and Christians are the one's required to show proof, it's not up to the doubters to disprove idiotic claims maid by religious kooks.

I agree it is the Bible which has to show proof - and the rest to show disproof. 70% of the Hebrew bible has already been proven via scientific and historical evidence. Before you connect the Hebrew with the Gospels - please show us 'one' [not two] proofs of anything in the Gospels vindicated today - choose any word or verse therein.
