It's a closed system.
OK.
In this insular and simple little place, a number of events are possible. They are . . .
A, causing B or C
B, causing C or A
C, causing A or B
OK.
Naturally, this is a probabilistic system, in which randomness plays a vital role. Randomness in the form of quantum uncertainty is, in fact, a vital part of our universe as well.
Ok,
Let us say that an Omniscient and Eternal being, God, created this probabilistic system, and started it off with one of the events, .
A couple problems arise:
Of course it would, because the hypothetical scenario does not have a cause independant to yourself. You are the cause of said closed-system scenario and as such have set the rules. Adding another supreme being would just be another scenario set by the original cause, you. I believe this is where Ockhams razor applies.
Note that if you don't tell me how your system works, then it is impossible for me to know. So in effect everything starts from you or the cause.
Randomness cannot exist unless it does so in defiance of God's Omniscience. If he is all-knowing, he should know what is going to happen.
Randomness is the condition set by the observer and for all we know may not exist. If God is all-knowing, randomness cannot possibly exist.
In your scenaria you set out a system, the subjects (A,B&C) act according to the rules, they do not nesaccerily understand the rules so they may accept somethings as random events, but for you there are not random events. How could there be?
1 - It's a limit imposed on an illimitable quality.
Using your hypothesis, the limits would be set by A, B, or C, but you (the cause) by comparison would still be the same while A,B and C would be constantly coming into and out of existence.
2 - God is also eternal. Therefore, His present must be the entire history of the Universe: there is no future, no unknown, to Him. He's always been, even in the future, so there can't be something He doesn't already know.
So what is it that He knows?
In fact, he already knows what He is going to do.
There was never a time that he didn't know it or hadn't done it though, since He's eternal, that is.
Then Him knowing what He is going to do cannot be the omniscient knowledge we are talking about. For example, i know what i am going to do in one hours time, but i don't regard it as knowledge.
The question is, what is knowledge?
Randomness is the root of free-will, and without the root not even He can have the tree.
Randomness is things happening by chance, a free-will means you are free to to choose. Choice does not mean any and everything simultaneosly, it means you can either do this or that, in some sort of order set out by the lawmaker.
There is another problem. If He is eternal, why did he wait forever before he made the closed system? He waited forever . . . how and why?
Forever is related to us, because we have a limited time span.
There is very little room for logic in this idea . . .
At some time or other one has to look beyond logic. Things are'nt alway how they appear to be and logic cannot cater for that.
