Insight into the origin of life

There is no Life -it's an illusion. It's just chemicals, don't you know that?

What a bunch of plonkers.

ok "bunch of chemicals" why are you thinking anything otherwise, your just a "bunch of chemicals" so stop this discussion worthlessness and go do your chemical stuff

I don't have to go anywhere, I'm doing my chemical stuff as I write this.

But it's just a bunch of chemicals. It looks like I'm doing something, but clearly this is an illusion (a chemical illusion). Even the illusion isn't an illusion, really - how can a bunch of chemicals see an illusion?

As to the article, interesting, but the DNA/RNA still needs to get from being embedded in mineral layers to actually being active and acted upon. Would ribosomes/ribozymes be able to function in these mineral layers?

I suppose this might be a source for raw material of simple genetic material, but at some point it has to become more than raw material and this would, I think, need to be done elsewhere.
