It seems rare that people want the world to be exactly how it is. Some people don't want the world to be any particular way, and so they are never disappointed. Most people desire at least the absence of disease, benevolent rulers, perfect justice, a cosmic plan to feel a part of, true love, or just pleasure...
Most of the world believes in magic and that's just how they'd like the world to be; magical.
I would too, it's just that I'm mature enough to not let that color my investigations into what is actually happening.
