Yep. She's supposed to not eat pork. She's supposed to celebrate Ramadan. She's supposed to eat animals that were butchered a certain way. She's supposed to....
I know two Muslims personally. My cousin's ex husband and my former landlord. Both of them are cool as shit. My cousin's ex is from the UAE. He is Sunni. I'm not sure about my old landlord's denomination, but he's from Iran. He's the reason I want to go visit Iran should they ever get a better goverment in place.
I see many Muslims around here. At least I think they are, as the women are always wearing scarfs over their head (but their face isn't covered). Most of them are black so I assume they came from an African country rather than an ME one.
All the ones I come across seem to be just as well mannered as anyone of us Americans.

Good Luck with that! Going into a marriage thinking you will change the other person is probably the worst mistake you can make. It will always end badly.
In response to the OP, I've met a couple who didn't like the fact I was going out with their sisters. Some others who got pissed off in public, same reason. One person from another department who actually tried to get me to agree that the "Jews [were] perverse, no?"

I've cant say there all the same, But I have worked for two and each time, I had trouble getting paid, so I avoid working for them now.
I've also given a young man a slap, for being disrespectful to his mother in public. It's not something I've ever come across from a christian lad, thats not to say it doesn't happen.
But the worsted treatment I ever got was from orthodox jews when I was ten/eleven, I was being treated like a leper whilst I walked past them and their children on my way home from school.

They come to our annual street sale every summer by the carloads. This summer my neighbor caught one of them stealing some kids toys that the woman wanted for next to nothing. When my neighbor said no, she wanted at least ? $ of dollars the woman didn't want to pay that so she just walked off the driveway with them while it was busy. My neighbor caught her and took the stuff away. The woman just looked at her no apology nothing. On my driveway a group of them came and rounded up loads of stuff they want for nothing. Not anywhere near what I was asking for it. They actually insult you and will harass you hoping you will just say Ok just take it and get lost.
Well one of them asked me about a handful of jewelry I had. I negotiated with her as much as I was willing too. (about a 1/4 of what I wanted) No not happy with that of course. Nietzsche saw her walking off while the others had me distracted and asked if she paid for the jewelry because she was walking quickly away from the driveway. Again same thing....although she acted like she forgot, even though she was just arguing with me about it. Funny thing though I asked her to pay me for it and she just handed it back. :bugeye: I can't even count the number of stories from ppl that have the same problem with these people. Saying they are rude is an understatement.
Let me guess though SAM, it's garbage we don't want anymore so they should have the right to just STEAL it.
The problems I have had in my store with them...........frankly too many for me to get into. I can honestly say with all my years dealing with the public they are the worst group I have dealt with.

I've heard of that. The Amish I see every so often are pretty standoffish too. They're kind of a put-upon minority either way, sort of clinging on while the American/Western monolith goes on its merry miserable way, so my position is: meh. I try to be as friendly as possible anyway. Then again, I did debate with myself about killing a fly in the shower yesterday, so it may be I'm just wierd.
(No flies were ultimately harmed...this time. I did warn it though.)
I knew a Zoroastrian...nice enough guy most of the time, could be a patronizing git at times. Also creeped me out a bit. Basically all right though. One of the muslim women I knew was a girl from Egypt...who laughed constantly. Maybe she thought we were going to kill her? She was like the female half in a radio duo; you could crack her up with a raised eyebrow. Great person though. I was actually supposed to write her a recommendation and forgot.
I had one friend who was half Iranian who may have been a muslim. Never really got into religion with him but if he was a muslim you would have never thought to hate it because of him.
How would anyone know if someone was Muslim unless the said so?
Its not like I assume every white person is a Christian or assume every brown person is Muslim.

my friend told me not to be offended because it's just that if she touches a non-muslim's skin it can lower her standing in god's eyes and I shouldn't take it personally.
I see it no different than a bigotry.
