Threads back, you failed to give me even one satisfactory example of a person who made a decision completely without his own understanding. Every decision a person makes, even one that involves abdicating one's own judgment, is based on cognitive processes in the brain.
There is nothing but one's own understanding. The only difference between me and you is that your experiences and neuro-processes have led you to believe the Bible is the Word of God. Mine have not. In both cases, we are relying upon our own understanding to inform our decisions, no matter how magical they may seem.
By the way, just because I like to do something is no reason to believe that the universal creator of everything likes to do it too. (Again, this is simply anthropomorphism at its finest.) I like to jack off to internet porn too, but that doesn't mean God is a chronic masturbator.
