Yes perhaps it will be the atheists such as myself that will be promoting the wars in the future. :D These wars may lack the same emotion, but I have a feeling they could be deadlier!

atheism is just a word. so is god.
whats real is what is out there not what is in your head.

the kind words of a prophet mean nothing without actions that mirror those words.

whether you think that the word of your god means more or that the results of scientists means more doesnt matter. what matters is whether and how people act because of those things.

atheists do not act more rationally.
theists are not morally superior.

people who practice being aware of their surroundings in relation to their actions are more rational.
people who grow up in an efficient, diverse and supportive community are morally superior.

To believe that we, my bothers and sisters, live only in order to evolve, enhance and consolidate our pleasure and emotional well-being in this world, and look to science as the new foundation for rationally behaving humanity, is only to partake in the war of good vs evil.

Is there another life ? Why not ? Is death the ultimate end ? I think not.
If it was not so, why would we feel more than we can describe in very harsh personal situations, and have an inner feeling..., like a 6th sense...that there just might be a...

After all, the devil's greatest trick was convincing people that he did not exist.
 
Just because we may not yet understand all of the workings of our inner minds is no reason to jump to the conclusion of some extra-corporeal being, or to use the words of another thread, a "floaty space fairy".

i've never come across an atheist that says there is no god, they say they have no belief in god/gods as it is infantile and unreasonable to do so.

If a thing does NOT exist it can not leave any evidence of it's non-existence. Only things that DO exist can leave evidence. From this we can derive that conclusive proof can only come from the person that claims that a thing exists. It is nonsensical to demand proof of non-existence.

The existence of a thing can be conclusively proved by producing one single instance of the thing.

To put that another way: -
When the existence of a thing is denied, This can be proven wrong by producing one single instance of the thing said not to exist

The non-existence of a thing can never be conclusively proved because there is always the theoretical assumption that the thing exists but has not been seen yet or it exists in a place that can not be visited. Unless all places in the universe have been visited and are being constantly observed, we can not be absolutely certain.

From this we can say that there are only two possible statements we can make about the existence of a thing:


The thing exists.

It is unknown if the thing exists or not.

thus the burden of proof must fall on the shoulders of the person claiming a thing exists.

Atheist simply don't believe (or lack of evidence sort of) in god . It doesn't ensure who don't believe in god then must be able to use logic and reason to work things out.
working things out has nothing to do with atheist or theist.
war can be promoted by anyone.

M*W: Atheists are logical. Just because you cannot understand this concept, doesn't make atheists illogical. It is illogical to believe in a god, just as it is illogical to believe in fairies. Atheists don't need a god to solve their problems. Atheists have been blessed with the innate powers of logic and reason. Theists do not have these powers.
