I do agree that atheism isn't an -ism... which is why there is an 'A' prefix qualifier which says just that. Simply put atheists are not believers in a 'God'.
SW's etymology that Atheism is not an ism is nothing more than their basis for redefining what has always been an ism. Their version is that it is not an ism. It is not the standard.
Wrong or right. Lots of people disagree with the standard. But when they go as far as claiming their view is the standard, and the original intended standard is not the standard, that is propaganda.
