He was a Scotland footballer for a few years, IIRC. I suppose that could drive anyone mad.
I remember reading about his prediction that Aran would sink into the sea, about 7 or 9 years ago or something. Oddly enough, Aran is still there. He's quite well known in the UK, pops up every now and then and says something stupid. I've even seen one of his books in a charity shop.
