We have differing opinions on the nature of what is bringing the country down. I'm not overly nationalistic, except in the sense that I was fortunate enough to be born in a country which allows me to be what I am.. and for you to be what you are. For that reason (Not only for that reason, but it will suffice for now) I am proud to be Australian. You don't love your country, Asguard. You love what you would like it to be. As do I.

I don't believe I ever said the right was in the majority. I have no belief in majority opinion. It proves nothing more than the herd knowing where to get a free feed. The herd cares little for long term survival.

Now here, for the first time, you've given me something to think about. Not in the sense of free speech... All you're telling me here is that those who make law are too weak to be able to stand up in the the face of insult... they run to mummy instead. They don't fight - they cower behind the skirts of law. Insult is the best way for someone to force another to think, in terms of the real world. In an ideal world, we would not be required to insult. Those in this world we would think of insulting, in my world we would argue with, knowing they had the capacity to argue their own stance without resorting to mob mentality, as you and others such as you do. If I am truly insulted, by someone who I know to have intelligence, I will think of my stance in relation to their insult. I would ask myself if their insult contained truth.

Am I against democracy? No, not really. When I think of democracy, I think of people, able to think, advancing an opinion based on that thought. I would like to think that opinion is an individual thing, influenced only by the self and not popular agreement. What I would like to think, and what reality is, however, are not the same thing.

I am not thinking "The English are too many!"
I am wondering how to take them down.
 
actully the laws i was thinking about are not designed to protect those in power but those without

small companys, private inderviduals are protected from the big media throwing lies in order to discredit an opinion and a PERSON

Yes... the need to protect those who have been defamed by the stupid, operating under the assumption that the general public are stupid enough to believe and form opinions without knowing all the facts to begin with.

Asguard, do me a favour. Read "The Fountainhead", or "Atlass Shrugged" and see what Ayn Rand has to say about you and those like you. It gives a better opinion than what I am either capable of saying, or have the space to say here.

You won't, I know. But I feel the obligation to at least try to enlighten you, if only a little bit.
