Gen 41:21 And even with the fat cows inside them they seemed as bad as before. And so I came out of my sleep.

I'm just guessing. In all fairness, it probably means more to us out of context.

I was going to start a thread called "God said what?!!"

Exodus 21:20-21
If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

Exodus 21:7-11 (NLT)
"When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment."

Genesis 22:2 (NIV)
Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."

Genesis 38:7
But Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the LORD's sight; so the LORD put him to death.

Leviticus 26:21-22 (NLT)
"If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins. I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted."

Personally I don't think it is suitable for children to be indoctrinated into a system that espouses this incitement to violence.

Can I get an amen?!

SpiderGoat...question...who will it be the one who chooses the verse of the day and how can we be sure that that individual possesses the necessary ecclesiastical acumen to avail use of the coded mystery/myth within?

In the circumstances that we cannot agree on who is the most pious (or I lose) I intend to form my own splinter 'Bible Verse of the Daye'...
