Bashing republican\democrats thread

Education - 1) Reprogramming a conservative to become a liberal.

Education - 2) Method of growing the next generation of liberals.

Education - 3) Primary purpose is to provide jobs for teachers.

Education - 4) To be used as a club to extort more tax money from the public.

Am I the only one who enjoys seeing conservatives try to laugh at the positive correlation between education and liberalism? I mean, sure soemtimes they stick to their guns and really try to defuse that one by ranting and raving about secret plots by university faculty and whatnot, but every now and then you catch them in such a mood that they just have to chuckle and admit that they are the dumber idiology. Of course we think of that as a vicotry, and they think of that as an affermation that intellecutalism is against god, or its girly or what have you.

Nice dictionary. Always good to see more right wingers here on Sciforums. It's amazing how one slightly right wing comment can set off a frenzy of indignant postings. You are entirely correct about the left taking itself too seriously. If anyone dares question the orthodoxy of liberalism, he must be shouted down before the heresy spreads. At one time the left was vibrant, full of vigor and fresh ideas. That time is past. They've been beating the same dead horse for generations now. Their time is past. No new ideas. Just a liberal orthodoxy that must not be questioned and must be adherred to at all costs. And whatever you do, don't joke about it!!!!

As to the topic at hand:

Idiot:
Republican President

Mandate:
Whatever margin of victory a Democrat can achieve

Not a Mandate:
Whatever margin of victory a Republican achieves

Yes liberals can be very funny, but not when the humor is directed at them.

Which is why Christians, despite the Catholic priesthood scandal, the statistical prevalence of children abused by Christians, and the Christian-political obsession with sex, don't appreciate humor that casts them inappropriately. Catholic priests fantasize about and abuse other people's children. Protestants fantasize about and abuse their own. These are clearly two different processes. So casting all Christians as fumbling, farm-boy date-rapists for mere humor's sake is as inappropriate as casting all Christian men as boylovers.

However, when it comes to problematic issues like the inequality of women, it's a lot harder for Christians who aren't part of the Promise Keepers or Southern Baptist Convention to disavow beliefs that are Biblically-based.

To reiterate my initial response to this topic:

No conservative I've yet met is creative enough to go delving into an obscure but briefly-famous Canadian pop band that, in making a silly song about the culture around them, accidentally tapped into something that is American liberalism's quiet problem. Hint: they opened for Duran Duran once upon a time ... Hint #2: the album was produced by Todd Rundgren.

Now, a smart, obsessed conservative should be able to figure out what song that is, even from that scant information. The problem facing most conservatives is that American politics in general doesn't usually run so deeply. The key isn't visible in that paragraph, but any objective examination of the liberal political spectrum in the United States that overlooks this vital point is either myopic or not objective at the outset.

Seriously, I'll give it 'til Friday.

And no, liberals in general shouldn't bother guessing; they'll embarrass themselves just as badly. However, I will say that the only people I know who think deeply enough to figure this still-superficial riddle are liberals.

So any self-described conservative who brings me the title of that song gets a free pass on the obsession count and the pride of scoring one up on the liberals. All the insidious pleasure and none of the guilt.

Any self-described liberal who brings me that title is merely meeting a basic--but not minimal--expectation. We must not only think and conceive and invent on such an intellectual level, we must also be smart enough to figure out how to dumb it down for conservatives.

Let's pause and think about this for a minute.

A Jewish Dictionary
(Disclaimer: First off, this is an example intended to show a certain argumentative value about "humor". Secondly, principle suggests I shouldn't even have to make this disclaimer, but experience here at Sciforums advises strongly otherwise.)
"subhuman" - Arab
"target" - Muslim
"bonus points" - Awarded for killing Arab or Muslim children
"double bonus points" - Awarded for killing Arab Muslim children
"lunch" - Foreskin
"peace" - Everyone who disagrees is dead
"Amalek" - Yasser Arafat (Jews everywhere were disappointed when God called Arafat home before the Israelis figured out a way to blot Muslims from the face of the Earth.)

Inflammatory enough?

Some people actually think that shit is funny. And it probably was, at some point, for the same reason as my favorite racist joke. (I'll skip the recital.) The sheer absurdity of the "joke" reflects something very amiss about human perception. But it has no substantive value.

Of greater concern, though, some people actually believe it true.

Oh, and the Amalek bit came from a now-defunct, American-based, pro-Israeli page. There are some discussions of Amalek scattered on a couple of pro-Israel websites, but the really offensive one, which the entirety of the Amalek "joke" is based on, has gone the way of the off-switch as far as I can tell. I'll see if I can dig it up again; it would be funny, except for that little thing with Muslims killing Jews and Jews killing Muslims. That disclaimer might be a little more necessary. The rest can be picked from various facets of the ongoing Israel-Palestine argument, and also American Neo-Nazi propaganda.

Answer: The Pursuit of Happiness - I'm an adult now

I am a conservative but I love 80's and 90's alternative.

Now there is an interesting half-accusation. Care to elaborate on this one a little more, or is it just purely a hypothetical because democrats are uniformly such sleazy bastards?

you could attemp to kill bush, but i dont think your school wolud condone that, so maybe find ways to bring down bush peacefully, or set up a system arcoss your country that will allow democrats to flee to canada when bush imposes the draft

if your in the killing mood would you mind doing howard as well. I was very disapointed in the indoneasian millatry and the guys in the provence he was visiting. surly SOMEONE had an ichy trigger finger

howard eh?, but then id have to go to australia *eeew, gross*

if brash gets elected this year then im gonna at least try to kill him, and who knows, maybe ill go on a killing spree

Here's a thought; Since some of you liberals seem to be so fascinated with assassination, why not form a Gun Club for Liberals.

I bet hes also the kind of guy who kills so much, so quickly, so ruthlessly that wars end quicker since they enemy doesn't want any more. :m:

Yes, but then you're also a very strange indoctrinated little boy.
Really? I was not aware of that fact.

I've heard sentiments like this before, and frankly I just can't wrap my mind around how anyone could make such an accusation of an organization that rushes to the legal aid of Jerry Falwell and those annoying evangelical Christian groups that prey on frightened freshmen on college campuses.
That's because you are a strange indoctrinated little girl!

http://www.airamericaradio.com/listen.asp Listen to Franken and the Randy Rhods show and then tell me there's no humor! Uuum try to stay away from Mike Maloy, though, I mean there's humor there, but not because you're laughing with him.
That's such a small talk show. They may have a show, but is it a successful one? That was the original point. Nobody has heard of this, but everyone knows Rush Linbaugh and Michael Savage.

Liberals have no sense of humor?
OK. They have a limited sense of humor that is limited to putting a picture on underwear. I have seen better jokes in my life.

Robin Williams? Liberal. George Carlin? Liberal. Most of Monty Python would be/ would have been described as more liberal than conservative. The list could go on and on, but you aren't worth that much of my time.
Well, the difference between them and you is that they have a sense of humor.

In all of my hundreds of hours of listening to conservative talk radio, I never once heard anything approaching funny. They all seem to be stuck at the Johnny Fuckerfaster stage of humor.
That's because you have no sense of humor.

My point . . . I had an idea of forming a Liberal Club. What I'd like to know is what exactly we could do with a Liberal Club.
Talk about your next plan to kill off thousands of helpless babies, and calling it "a basic right of a woman."

You could discuss other methods of destroying the American cultural identity. You could figure out even more ways to denigrate the white male, while raising other races to a much higher level.

You could talk about more ways to accuse law-abiding American's of hate-crimes, such as racial profiling.

You could sit around smoking pot and hugging trees.

whoa, you have to watch channel one as well. i hate that damn program.
It really sucks. It is merely a ploy used to show advertising, and to feed us their liberal bias.

I really don't care if you don't understand my sense of humor. Most people who aren't too smart don't, just as they don't understand Monty Python, The Onion, or Jack Handey and Emo Philips.

Rush Limbaugh's idea of a "funny" joke is when on his short lived television show, he commented on how many african americans were wearing baseball caps with the roman numeral ten on them (this was when the Malcolm X movie starring Denzel Washington was in theaters). So he pulled out a black baseball cap with the letter Y on it and said "why"? Haw haw, good one Rush! Why are those stupid darkies wearing those caps?

Complete crap.

Hey. I agree with Rubiks on this issue. However, I think that Monty Python is hilarious, and so is Jack Handy. I am sure RubiksMaster would agree, along with everyone else on this site.

The fact is, you don't have a sense of humour about the liberal dictionary. Are you so sensitive that you cannot take a joke when it is against you? Sure you do all you can to push other liberal comedians, yet you cannot justify your own lack of a sense of humor.
