Atheists Who Go to Church: Doing It for the Children

For starters:

Hitler a Christian, eh?

History is currently being distorted by the millions of Christians who lie to have us believe that the Holocaust was not a Christian deed. Through subterfuge and concealment, many of today’s Church leaders and faithful Christians have camouflaged the Christianity of Adolf Hitler and have attempted to mark him an atheist, a pagan cult worshipper, or a false Christian in order to place his misdeeds on those with out Jesus. However, from the earliest formation of the Nazi party and throughout the period of conquest and growth, Hitler expressed his Christian support to the German citizenry and soldiers. Those who would make Hitler an atheist should turn their eyes to history books before they address their pews and chat rooms.

Going to Church for the children might make sense as an ongoing lesson on how powerful fear can be. Fear of death and/or damnation. Yet, I say it is more ethical to help give children substantiated information based on science since that type of knowledge has been responsible for most of the things we use day to day to survive, or thrive, even.

yes!!!!!!

I am not so sure I believe was his mother or father Jewish . Herman Gorings bother was a Jew , Lenin Was from Jewish decent , Trotzi was a Jew, so don't push to far Christianity most of us are humble peasants , our leaders most are secular which is pretty close to atheist.

Based on psychology, it might be more accurate to say, extremely sadly, too, that the holocaust was an unspeakably barbaric escalation of the attitude that the chosen people from times of old kept, but turned back upon themselves. That is why I disdain group policies that separate people from other people. The holocaust can be seen as a viciously egregious case of reciprocation.

I take it you've now finished your course at the Mel Gibson school of acting?

And when you forget your lines, who's fault is it?.... Er, is it the Jews?

You've never met any Nazis, have you?

@wynn --

He was born and raised catholic and never left the church nor was he excommunicated(odd how a girl who was raped by her father gets excommunicated over getting an abortion but the genocidal dictator gets a clean pass).

You've never met any Nazis, have you?

Fortunatly I don't think I ever have however they sometimes hide amongst the uber conservatives that are always around us. I try to avoid such assholes like them because they are like a cancer.

Why don't you apologize for saying that Hitler wasn't a Christian, which I proved that he was?

You should hook up with some of them, and ask them what they think about Christianity and about Hitler being Christian.
That ought to be enlightening.

And what kind of ethics does one learn there is public schools and via the media?
The kind of ethics that brought this world into a complete crisis.

What about the laissez-fairer trickle down economic policies endorsed by conservative Christians? It's exactly those policies that caused the crisis!

They are the ones who only have to hear the correct dog whistle and they vote for the sociopaths responsible for economic policies that are distinctly un-Jesus like.

Technically you're comparing political with religion, and while there can be a hazy area between the two, you'd have to agree from a historical point that nazism is fascism. That being said, it is an extreme right side movement, and not to generalize, but most atheists seem to usually be the other side of the coin.

What religious group is on the ultra right side in America? Not saying they are also fascist, but just making a point that your assumption that nazis promoted atheism just doesn't add up.

Stalin favored the lack of religion because he saw organized religion as competition, but there was no drive to deconvert everyone.

Please. It was Cosmic who claimed that Hitler was a Christian.

That is some crooked thinking you two have there - "Christians are on the right, and Nazis are on the right. This means that the Christians are Nazis, and the Nazis are Christians."
No. It doesn't mean that.
:rolleyes:

Copy-paste where I supposedly assumed that "Nazis promoted atheism."

I'm sorry, I just got the impression that

Hitler a Christian, eh?

meant you agreed with those that usually question him being a Christian, and want to shift the blame of Hitler on atheism.

My point was that the religion often doesn't have bearing on the morals and political actions. His Christian beliefs obviously were skewed enough to allow him to do things that weren't Christian.

Did that apply to the Pope as well? If he wasn't a representative for Christianity, I don't know who was.

Please. It was Cosmic who claimed that Hitler was a Christian.
Actually, it was Hitler who claimed he was a Christian. And seeing as how the Catholic Church never excommunicated him, then he must've been in their good graces. :shrug:

I don't think that would be what I want to get involved with. You stated that Hitler wasn't a Christian and I showed you that he was. As yet you do not apologize for saying I was wrong but only are trying to avoid admitting your error. When will you admit your mistake? :shrug:

@wynn --

Again, Hitler was born and raised catholic, never renounced his faith, and was never excommunicated. I think that makes him a christian.
