I don’t put any faith in predictions, but I am keeping my focus on both AGI and open contact before the start of the next decade.

If both of those were introduced into the world I feel it could definitely change the priorities and mindset, and maybe even the lifestyle of the global society.
 
Are you going to admit this BIG EVENT failed to happen when it fails to happen? If so I'd like staff to change your username to Magical Failist.
 
It's probably very easy to go back into MR post history to see how many times his predictions have failed.
