Genetic drift.

So are we playing smart ass- if they were genetically the same- drift will not give you 'diversity'. Genetic drift creates random diversity in populations due to the genetic variability.

Mutations are the major source of genetic variability, which is propagated and spread through the other mechanisms of Evolution like drift and selection....

Anyways I'm not going to continue this, because this is a pretty stupid discussion as I think you're doing it to 'win' again.

You are probably right about that. You win. Diversity in early lifeforms was probably due to stealing DNA from other lifeforms. After some time, the invention of sex was primarily to increase variation.
