Actually, Horses cannot breed with mules. Mules are the result of a horse breeding with donkeys. Mules are infertile, a genetic freak. Horses and donkeys CANNOT breed succsefully, and mules just plain old cant breed.
 
It must suck to be mule. Or maybe it doesn't. Do you see any smiling mules?
