Some woman who married a guy who became a huge success while she sat home is now getting 184 MILLION DOLLARS. Maya Polsky,55, was a homemaker." She did nothing.:(

They married in 1975 in Kiev, Ukraine, came to the USA in 1976 with four suitcases and $500 cash. In 1980, they moved from Detroit to Chicago, where Michael Polsky found success in the energy business. He launched SkyGen, a leading independent power producer that sold in 2000 for about $450 million. He is now president and CEO of Invenergy Wind LLC, a Chicago-based wind energy company.

I hate when someone leeches off of someone else. Only in America.

She stuck with him for so many years; its probably worth the cash if she has to divorce him now. Besides, it reminds me of that joke about the man who comes home to find the house in a mess, the children dirty, hungry and crying, etc; upon questioning, his wife says, "You know how you keep asking me what I do all day? Well today, I didn't do it"

maybe he like made out with another woman, she caught him, and kaboom with their relationship.

I'm guessing she just got bored and wanted "her half" to go get a (new) life.

People who leech off each other to get their money or to get ahead in life make me sick.

They were broke when they got together.
She deserves half their marital assets.
They built their life together - do you think she had nothing to do with it?

I have a problem with getting indefinite alimony.
If someone has been married for 20 years and has no marketable skills, (s)he should be supported for an appropriate amount of time to get on his/her feet (go to school, get a job etc), but anything beyond that is unfair - lifestyle maintenace is bullshit.

Of course you are.

She was married to him for over 30 years, just wringing her hands and waiting for the oportunity to ger her half.

Well if he gets retirement benefits, why shouldn't she?:p

If they were married before 1975, she can't be all that young.

She's 55. She married a guy who worked hard and became a success while she sat at home. She did not work hard or create their wealth. HE DID. I'm just tired and fed up with people sucking off of the successful ones. This guy still has enough money but she is not worth $184 MILLION. I would have given her 2.

did she at least gave him a child?

Who knows? What difference does that matter? She did not work or build the wealth. He did. And he should not have to give some leech half.

If you think a marriage of thirty years is not a partnership, you're nuts.

well if she gave him a child, than yes it does matter. She is worth what she is worth for. But if she didn't...thats another matter.

I don't. I've seen longer marriages where both were miserable with each other for years yet the woman hung on for the money. Or the man didn't file because he didn't want to give her half. I've also seen where the woman was the rich one and the leech husband stuck on.

The years married don't mean squat. It's how much did each contribute to the wealth. Whoever contributes nothing deserves nothing.

How is it nuts sam? You marry a guy, you become rich whether from working or inheritance and you have to give him half if he divorces you? I don't think so.

30 years is a very long time of your life to give someone else. Besides, I'd like to know why she divorced him after so long.

She didn't "give" him anything. She also didn't contribute to the marital wealth. It doesn't matter why she divorced him. She doesn't deserve half of HIS wealth.

I don't think anyone else outside her marriage is entitled to judge her contribution to it.

Go Google the term "marriage strike" and read some of the articles.
Bitches like her are the reason why that is becoming so popular.
