I was in physics lab the other day when my TA told us that our eyes are most sensitive to green light because we come from the jungle where we are surrounded by green. I argued that it is because the sun's peak wavelength is around green. He conceded that I was correct. But now I wonder - why do plants reflect the sun's most abundant wavelength and not absorb it? I've read that they absorb around the red and blue frequencies...it makes no sense to me. Anyone have an explanation?
