Who was Solomon?

Makes sense, translated directly. I'm not well read up on him, though, so I don't know how correct the "direct" translation of his name is..

M*W: I heard this as a child! What was the rest of it? What does it mean? It went on to say something about Tuesday, but I don't remember the rest of it.

M*W: As usual, you miss the point. If I had wanted scripture explained to me, I would have asked the Rabbi on http://www.jdstone.org/cr or

I would never ask a Christian nor an Atheist to explain scripture to me. However, the scripture you quoted did bring us some questions.

1. What was wrong with Bat-Sheva that David had to go in to "comfort" her?

2. Does the word "comfort" imply foreplay or sex?

3. What does the name "Shlomo" mean?

4. Doesn't the LORD stand for David as in Shlomo's "lord and master?"

5. Doesn't the name "Shlomo" mean "dufus" in Yiddish?

6. I'm asking you this because I don't know--why was Shlomo special? I know he was considered to be wise, but how was he special in God's eyes? I'm asking you to give civil answers to these questions, since you brought up the scripture.
