The title is a little tongue in cheek, considering a recent story on a Scottish Hospital planning to use Robots to deal with some of the day to day menial tasks that currently interns do.

The robots will have their own dedicated network of corridors underneath the hospital.

...Which reminded me of
Michael Crichton's Westworld a little, so be prepared for a Robotic Yul Brynner clone dressed in a kilt and sporin acting like Rob Roy. (Yul Roy)

For you potential Luddite's out there:
Managers said the robots would not replace humans, but would free up more time for staff to spend with patients.

They will also have to keep at least one human on standby, should any of the robots break down.

I wouldn't be surprised if Scottish Scifi writers are penning a new Scotbot story right now.....

I think robots doing, at least, very routine tasks wouldn't be a problem. You would of course lose that human to human contact... but the people going through hundreds of patients (getting their information, perhaps simple diagnosis) a day are more like robots anyway...

Actually history is the MOST important part of Med, its estimated that 80% of a clinical diognosis is the history. Further more patients rarly tell the Infomation that the HCP needs without any analysis and prodding. For instance what would the robot do if the patient said they had "a turn"? Or a patient who has chest pain but presents with leg pain?

You could do somethings by robot, maybe treating once the diognosis is worked out but the history and diognosis part needs to be done by a human
