What makes us human..

Hi! I am new, and from looking at past replies to this post, possibly the only adult on the thread.
That said, I would like to offer my thoughts for this question.
(This is only my personal answer and not to be perceived as an answer of "fact" in the general nature of the question)
I feel that "What makes us human?" are a complex mesh of many things... To me, Human is our thoughts, emotions, our learning process, and the ability to use all of the above to educate ourselves and others.
To explain further.....1) the way we think is unique to humankind. (Most of us)....use the thought process in a more complex way. By this I mean that when we think, we do not just consider survival or our immediate needs, but consider the needs and thoughts of others that may be affected by whatever course of action that caused us to think in the first place.... We also use our thought process to remember the past for both pleasure and pain, or just to daydream.
2) Emotion.......possibly the very core of the "Human" experience... It is our feelings, thoughts, and the "main belt in the engine of humanity" It drives our feelings and controls our behavior when interacting within the human race. It is also the only thing that we can use to control the Feelings, thoughts and learning of others within our reach. In a sense. it is the single common tool we all have that can manipulate the thoughts, emotions and learning of others.
3) Learn.......... everyone has the ability, to some it is a thirst that is never quenched............. to others..... (why bother??? other posts show this example) The ability to learn and teach has driven our race to reach for the stars and NEVER settle for just the moon. ( To simplify for the feeble-minded people..... as you seem able to use a computer and keyboard I will use that....) Some think.... I push the buttons, I can read and make the words, that tells me that it works. That is all I care to know.... A "Complete" (or should I say more complex...) Sorry, I just became aware that I should refrain from referring to some as "UN-Complete" Humans... ( WOW, I think I just experienced a "complex" human thought process.)
To finish the above ... "A complete"........Human asks, and really wants to know, what makes it work, why does it work in that manner and How can I make it work better???
Any Questions??? Mystry
:D

Any Questions??? Mystry
:D

Yeah i got a question,
do you want a bitchslap?

OOOHH Baby! OOOhh Baby!! What BIG WORDS you have! Are you attempting to relay to me that you cannot form a thought process that relates the open minds of the Human Kind?
1.)human >adjective 1 of, relating to, or characteristic of humankind. 2 showing the better qualities of humankind, such as sensitivity. >noun a human being.
2)humane >adjective 1 having or showing compassion or benevolence. 2 formal (of a branch of learning) intended to civilize.
3)humanity >noun (pl. humanities) 1 humankind. 2 the condition of being human. 3 compassion or benevolence. 4 (humanities) learning or literature concerned with human culture.

Do you show ANY of the above qualities that would define you (At least in the strict definition of the English dictionary) as Human?? Then again..... your chosen pic to represent your being may be a sign...............

By the way, Referring to
"Yeah I got a question,
do you want a bitchslap?
the last idiot that had your type of attitude towards me spent some time inside of a jail cell......

food for thought, Age 13-18, I know it all! and only I know what is good for me, I Should be in charge of my own life no matter what!@ 18-21 O.K. I thought I knew it all before! but now I realize that I know a little bit more now . The world is against me and only I can help myself....21-25 I hate to admit it...my parents were right and I need to seek their advise whether I choose to follow it or not.....25-30+++++++++++++++++ I finally realize that even thought I know quite a lot, I will never know it all..... Thank you GOD for every day I have to not only figure this stuff out, but to be great full have the chance to figure it all out and learn from it!:)

Id rather have cancer of the anus than continue to talk to you.

Besides i never said i was human.

mystry,

Welcome to the board.

Maturity is not a matter of age. Those that do think so tend to be immature themselves.

There are some very intelligent and mature teenagers on this board. With your mindset you are going to do nothing but offend them, instead of learn from them.

Back to the thread Your 3 points you presented aren't unique to humans. Other creatures share the same qualities (bonobos, dolphins, chimpanzees, etc.)

Humans can create their own habitats anywhere and any way they choose.
Humans are capable of loving other species, as well as their own.
Humans are incessant creators of things like art, fashion, entetatinment and music; things that strictly speaking, aren't necessary for survival.
Humans create things that fuck with their brains, for fun, recreation and learning (some do anyway).
Humans can choose to be led by the head or the heart.
Humans are supreme and they are fallible.
Humans seem more human when they smile:) :m:

Quote: Humans seem more human when they smile

Actually I think humans seem more human when they are crying. Smiling can be a facade of sorts crying takes one beyond all persona and masks, more human. It is another's pain or suffering that can evoke feelings of compassion and empathy, even a monkey can appear to smile.

Does anyone know if there are any mammals known to shed tears?

Humans seem most human when they are jacking off in front of a mirror or stuffing small animals in their asses.

A human is an animal who doesn't know how to live its own life, it needs to be told and given instructions. A human without these instructions will fail at life, it won't even be able to perform the most basic of all tasks which is raise its offspring.
That is what seperates humans from other animals, humans are naturally incompetent at being living organisms. So they have gathered all the secrets life has taught them throughout history, written them down and traded them amongst themselves. It has potential, but its a far cry from a dignified and noble history.

Oh and they're arrogant, as you can see in this thread, they think they are wonderful and glorious, almost magical beings. They ignore other organisms on the planet and assume they are the only things that can feel the universal emotions that occur in their brains. They then conclude this makes them special even though they are no more outstanding than any other species on the planet. These beliefs cause them to mindlessly have negative effects on their environments and the human has become a global pest;

Today, billions of termites every year are finding that their homes are riddled with humans, by the time they find out it is always to late and whole colonies of termites that can be up to and over a hundred million years old are being destroyed on a daily basis.

To this date there is still no known defense against the human plague. It has the remarkable ability to adapt and become immune to even the most powerful culling devices activated by nature. In the 20th century nature pulled out all the stops and unveiled what was billed as "the cure" to the human invasion. The Hiv virus seemed impressive at first, but inevitably failed to live up to its hype, the human never managed to become immune to the virus but easily managed to breed much faster than the virus could affect the human population.

One strain of human was successfully stopped, on easter island early humans wiped themselves out by using up every resource in their grasp. This being the only ray of hope in history it is optimistically estimated that eventually the humans will make the "easter island mistake" and effectively wipe themselves out on a global scale due to lack of resources.
Unfortunately it is inevitable that many beneficial species will fall by way of human hands before this disease runs its course on the planet earth.
