What is up with all the nonsensical quack threads?

I do not post in the science sections much, so hopefully I am not one of those you are describing. I usually post in the philosophy/religion and political sections, as well as some free thoughts, and luckily I would say I am knowledgable in those fields.

Ah, a nonsensical reply...

Make the leap pal. Empires plunder. Ideas, resources, etc.
And no, I will not be...
...spamming this thread with Islamic propaganda links
... as I am not muslim.
And I'm born and bred American, currently living in Nebraska.
I merely point out your intolerance.:bugeye:

And ignorance.

I have to admit, I went to some of Reiku's other threads, and I have to admit his/her ideas were/are 'curious'.:eek:

That's why they're dangerous.

They're almost completely wrong, and wholly ill-informed, yet presented in a way such that it makes the author seem like he knows what he's talking about.

he meant Dark Ages.

The earlier part of the period ( c. 500– c. 1100) or early Middle Ages is sometimes distinguished as the Dark Ages,
while the later part ( c. 1100–1453) or high or late Middle Ages is often thought of as the Middle Ages proper. The whole period is characterized by the emergence of separate kingdoms, the growth of trade and urban life, and the growth in power of monarchies and the Church...

OK, I'll cede the point that maybe I used "middle ages" too broadly.

But the Church has not been known for it's 'contributions' to science. Just ask Galileo.

what does that have to do with his statement?

While they were advancing the sciences of the day, we, Europeans were wallowing in filth and burning people at the stake.

That is because you are fixated with religion. No one implied that Muslims are anti science or denies that people of Islamic faith have not contributed to science or mathematics.

afa burning at the stake. similar things took place at nearly every corner of the earth, especially during the earlier periods of civilization. Expand on, or make a new thread, about the burning at the stake stuff. This needs to be hashed out.
