Was James Watson right about blacks being less intelligent than whites?

I guess he got his nuts roasted a bit about this. Since we know some people, ie Jews, are generally smarter than the rest of us. And we know some people tend to end up not so well off, is it so hard to believe genetic differences account for the difference?
