Just outta curiousity, do those of you in the american public agree with your governments foreign policies? Might seem a bizzare question but all we poor ignorant foreigners have to go by is the media, and we all know how unbiased they are :p

Most of my government's present policies completely outrage me. I'm not really sure how most of my fellow Americans feel. I'm disturbed by the number who apparently feel Bush is a good president, and what we are doing is right.

After having to listen to right wing talk radio all day, I like to visit www.bartcop.com , to remind myself that there are other sane Americans.

Of course I think our country is doing great! Finally with our great power, we are using our great repsonsibility to help the oppressed people of the world. Terrorism continues to remain a moderate threat for America and our national borders have been safe for over two years.

The economy is on the rebound. After collapsing just after the large internet/technology bubble, America is on the rebound once again.

www.cnn.com Great site with a fair approach to everything.

(*note: Liberals on this forum actually quote www.bartcop.com)

I live in America. I think it's foreign policies are the dumb as hell. Our president Bush is the biggest terrorist of them all. Finally with our great power, we are using our great stupidity to screw the oppressed people of the world.

I support the policies of the current administration. I didn't support Clinton who loved signing away our sovereignty every to what-the-fuck-country that comes along.

Such antics as invading a country because the thug running it wasn't doing our bidding any longer, lying about it, killing thousands of Iraqi's unnecessarily, and hundreds of Americans.

Appointing a Christian fanatic to the office of Attorney General.

For starters.

Allah agrees with you, and so does Saddam, Osama, Sudan, Libya, Syria, and the Taliban. I hope you are proud. :) Now don't you have some American flag to burn or don't you have to go and hold a peace rally by destroying half a city block in the name of peace?

Yes Jerrek, that's good, blame all the people of the muslim faith. Well done! You really should read up on Christian history and see that they were much worse in killing people, raging wars and what not. But then hey... they were right weren't they? They were defending God... who is also the same deity as what people of the muslim faith call Allah... Well done Jerrek, Bushpig would be proud to have you on his side... really...

You ever thought that if America didn't intervene in the politics of other nations, there wouldn't be as many problems as there are now? But what am I asking? To whom am I asking this question to? You think Bush is all there...

i wonder why people still talk with jerrek ... :D
he´s a fuck ,and the only thing he wants is to annoy people - what he says isn´t his real opinion (yep ,he has no own opinion ) ,he´s just trying to talk bullshit the whole day ;)

I don't like America's foregin policy. It's a nice place at home, but outside, it acts as the world bully.

If you don't what America says, you pay the consequences. It places sanctions on countries to remove dictators. But all that does it hurt the people more.

As for its war on terror, it should focus on other countries and not just Iraq. President Bush also has changed his motives in Iraq to finding "weapons" to "weapon programs." I never supported the Iraq War and I think President Bush should have handled it another way.

I don't understand how the people can support the war. Sure, it removed Saddam from power and will give the people a better life in the long run, but that was never the reason for war. To me, it seems more of an excuse to keep support that what America did in Iraq was right.

as an american i'm ashamed of our foriegn policies..
we often support thugs and terrorists until they are powerful enough to make thier own decisions then we declare them our enemies. we bait, arm both sides, and generally take advantage of those people that are backed up against a wall.. that's the nature of no holds barred capitalism. bush and most of the administration are criminals, but there are worse hiding behind them.. i'm affraid that regime change here won't be enough.

in my town i'm helping peace groups and attending rallies that depressingly only get about 1% of the people out. too many people keep thier head in the sand. i guess ashcroft and crew keep them too scared to speak up.

oh well, gotta keep trying to reign in this rogue superpower of ours anyway. i contemplate leaving a couple times a year but i feel that would be reckless.. ive been paying taxes here my whole life so i feel partly responsible for the destruction we have wrought.

Yak Yak Yak. Come up with something better man. We're tired of your same repetitive posts.

We are doing great? With unemployment up and the minimum wage gap (that is the largest since the 70's ) falling behind U.S. median income. With most of Americans without health care or prescription coverage. Yep. We are doing swell.

Terrorism is doing great. Osama who hated Saddam has puppetered the 'great' USA into doing his job and has hit two birds with one stone because now the US has a negative aura around it and the message to all nations around the globe is this: "Unless we have a way to deter the damn crusading Americans from invading we better get nukes and some of those WMD that Dubya keeps talking about.

Our policy in Africa is fucked up thanks to religious zealots. One policy is to give funding to stop AIDS but another undermines it because the nations support abortion. Silly Africans, what would jebus do?

Way to go America.

With a few rotten genetic mistakes such as yourself it does not discount the importance of peaceful disobedience.

Alas, the protesters are still human and controlled by strong emotion to peacefully feed you to tigers.

Foreign Policy - Who is really making these dumb ass policies?

US has the track record of having the most impatient and short sighted foreign policy ever. I believe the only thing which works for us as regards to our foreign policy is if it involves controlling the world fossil fuels..Israel is just a way of keep the Arabs busy with in their sand box. North Korea is never going to attack US but US still wants its people to consider North Korea as a threat because it can move its army closer to China to control Asian Continent. In Europe we are ok with EU till they do not attract OPEC to convert to Euros and EU keeps their armies allied with NATO. Africa will be used till the diamond lobby in the world stops pumping money to the war lords ... In south Asia US has supported Dictators in Phillipines, Pakistan to create a base for their ships and CIA agents. Kashmir Issue will never be solved as then Pakistan goes on a progressive path and US will lose their ally to will of the people of Pakistan.

I might have missed a few dictators and our occupation of Granada ..but I am sure being patriotic we are not allowed to question:confused:

It is amazing that US foriegn Policy office feeds Bullshit to its citizens telling them that the reason for 911 attacks was because the Arabs do not like our way of living ... and not a single mention of Hey it is because of our oppressive foreign policy of installing a puppet Government against the people's wishes in most of the oil rich nations.

I like a lot of what we are doing outside of the country (though we are still too afraid of offending someone) but I can't say I like a lot of what our administration is doing inside our own borders.

Sometimes I think we could learn a thing or two from Temujin/ Ghengis Khan as far as forign policy and the military goes. He may have been a bloodthirsty bastard but he was a SMART bloodthirsty bastard.

Well I must say its nice to see that most of the responses so far are coherent and well thought! Although I can't help but wonder if discussions in here, and in most places that promote open thought, are not biased. After all, how many of the extremists, be they right, left, up, down, or otherwise, are willing to take the time to participate in open discourse where their precious views might be challenged?

Still, I guess thats a topic for a different thread, and as long as there's some of us, however few, who are prepared to think rather than react, humanity isn't a total loss :p
