Twenty-nine percent!

Heh, it seems as if the last remnants of those 29% only exist here on these forums. ;)

29% of the population furiously wringing their hands in between screaming at the top of their lungs, I suppose?

Could it be that Bush is finally fulfilling his roll as a "uniter" (not a divider)? He's never struck me as the sort to worry about the means if an end is worthy, but even he should have seen that turning the Country and the world against him was perhaps not the best way to fulfil what should have been an empty campaign promise.

That's US President George Bush's current approval rating, guys. Yes, it's that low. What do you think this means for dear old Bush, and his administration, and his party?
Nothing. He will probably just stay there until the end. It's really pointless to see approval ratings unless someone can be elected or re-elected. He can't be re-elected, so this is pretty pointless.

What it means for his party? Nothing. Most people vote for the party, regardless of who is running. People are retarded, and so is democracy.

Bush also publicly stated he would like his brother to run in the next campaign. Idiot. Doesn't he know how stupid he looks making nepotist statements in public? His dad must be proud...

Anyone ever seen "Rhynoceros"?

wow...when was this? i would certainly like to see where he said that.

bush isnt known for being the most tactful man, but YOWZAS!!
it makes me giggle to think that a bush will run on the republican ticket...that means a democrat will win.

It means nothing. All they need (and probably hoping for) is another terrorist attack on US soil. American voters will forget Iraq and, once again be united with blind stupid patriotism (which got them to this point).

Or create an attack...

In any case... Americans are great at turning themselves into rhynoceros... :D :D :D

Yes, I also remember Cheney mentioning he would like to see a Dynasty happen, referring to a Bush Dynasty.

As if it didn't happen already. Bush Sr was VP for 8 years under Reagan, then as President for 4 years immediately after, only to have Clinton -- his buddy -- run for 8, and then now Bush Jr for another 8. Jeb for another 8 to make it 28 years of Bush control? 36 if you count his buddy Clinton. No thanks!

This ain't no democracy, it's a monarchy, heh.

My question is , that when the questions of the things that President Bush is doing in office about the war are taken individually, not lumped together, the approvial rateing go up into the upper 50tys and mid 60tys, take this last supposed spying on american scandel, Americans show when poled a 63%support for what the president is doing to keep Americans safe, and the prosecution of the war against terror.

63%. Percentage of Americans who think its acceptable that the “National Security Agency has been collecting the phone call records of tens of millions of Americans,” according to a new Washington Post/ABC News poll. May 12, 2006 10:04 am

Smith v Maryland - US Supreme Court Case 1979 - Phone Records belong to phone company, no privacy
Find Law ^ | June 20, 1979 | SCOTUS

U.S. Supreme Court SMITH v. MARYLAND, 442 U.S. 735 (1979) 442 U.S. 735 SMITH v. MARYLAND. CERTIORARI TO THE COURT OF APPEALS OF MARYLAND.

No. 78-5374.

Argued March 28, 1979. Decided June 20, 1979.

The telephone company, at police request, installed at its central offices a pen register to record the numbers dialed from the telephone at petitioner's home. Prior to his robbery trial, petitioner moved to suppress "all fruits derived from" the pen register. The Maryland trial court denied this motion, holding that the warrantless installation of the pen register did not violate the Fourth Amendment. Petitioner was convicted, and the Maryland Court of Appeals affirmed.

Held:

The installation and use of the pen register was not a "search" within the meaning of the Fourth Amendment, and hence no warrant was required. Pp. 739-74
