Transplants are the answer to the longevity problem. Faciltating the ability to work with heart and brain transplants on a day to day basis with people and have a accessible cost to every person as a form of expected requirements for every citizen will allow people to live inefinitely.

But what about the brain? You can't transplant it. Or the veins or arteries either. Many things deteriorate in our bodies that can never be transplanted.:shrug:

Why would a brain transplant be impossible? Is there a technical difficulty that couldn't possibly be dealt with in the future?

Imagine your brain having a embalism and a strok happens, are you going to get someone elses brain that's alive and put it into your own skull? :eek: :shrug:

Are you asking if anyone would allow their body to serve as a vessel for someone else's brain? Well that's not really a technical issue. I was wondering more if something makes it completely impossible to maintain a brain alive as it is being displaced and "reconnected". I know a brain isn't your everyday hard drive but I'd be interested to hear why. Is it doomed to be rejected?

As for finding brainless bodies, the black market will supply those. ;)

But YOUR brain is dead! :eek: You can't transplant another persons brain into your skull because it wouldn't be YOU any longer but whoever gets put into your skull instead. ;)

That goes without saying, transplants would only work as long as your brain is alive. It would only prevent the rest of your body from decaying since you would replace it. You could call it a "body transplant" except it's the brain you move.

As for preserving the brain itself, I guess you'd need to regenerate the cells.

Anyway, there's some wacko out there claiming that you simply upload your "mind" onto a cumputer and then download it into a newly cloned "blank Brain".

I'll pass on that.

That would be rather impossible to do with todays technology. Sounds like he is running a scam with that idea. :mad:
