Timeless GR

In anticipation of rebirth:
No, matter didn't appear until electroweak symmetry breaking, this was after a Planck Epoch and an electrostrong epoch, during which time only radiation fields existed.

This was known as the radiation epoch.

Then matter appears. Before this, relativity cannot consistently talk about ''time.''

In any relativistic concept. Einstein makes that clear when he said time is unthinkable without matter.
In a thread full of dumb arguments, this is one of the dumbererest. Two obvious issues:
1. This is like saying a piece of paper doesn't exist until you write on it.
2. I guess mass isn't "fundamental" either (nor a host of other properties in this nonsensical, hypothetical empty universe).

Another Reiku sock puppet [Legolongolas]. Same dumbshit stuff spewing onto the threads. O% integrity from 100% sociopath.

Quite a few claims have been made in this and the other "time does not exist" threads, that Einstein and others were/are supporting that obviously nonsense concept.
We also know how often alternative theorists are in the habit of taking sentences out of context, in the case of Einstein and other reputable people, and then try and use such erronious "out of context"remarks to support their agendas.

One such reputable physicist mentioned many times was Sean CARROLL.
In the course of the time debates, and my own knowledge on having never hear Carroll ever say anything about time not existing in the faitr complei way that has been claimed by our alternative theorists friends, I strongly refuted such innapropriate claims.

During my holiday and in some spare time I did have, I found the following.......

It is a video of Sean Carroll with Robert Lawrence Kuhn, discussing the very touchy debate about the reality of time.

http://www.preposterousuniverse.com/blog/2013/10/18/is-time-real/

At best, he claims time certainly does exist, at worst he claims it is a debatable subject among some current physicists.
He says early in the video that to think time does not exist is bizzare.....
He goes on to say that those physicist that make the claim that time is not real, really mean that it may not be fundamental.
He then quickly stipulates that even that concept is nowhere near clear...He says time is not an illusion, it is not fake, it is really there...anyhow, watch the video, far more exciting then listening to little old me.
